A few weeks ago, the appearance of the character of El chavo del ocho in a couple of ibposts by Eugenio Derbez caused shock and versions emerged that the Mexican actor and producer would be participating in the announced bioseries that tells the life of Roberto Gómez Bolaños.
Derbez's mysterious messages suggested that in fact the comedian of No Returns are accepted would be working on the project led by Roberto Gómez Fernández for his company, Grupo Chespirito.
Immediately, a sector of the public wondered what had happened to Lalo España, as the actor has been expressing his intention for many months to star in the series by the creator of characters such as El chapulín colorado, Chaparrón Bonaparte and Los caquitos.
With the appearance of actor Juan Frese in one of Derbez's ibposts, some people assumed that Lalo España had been left out of the project he so longs for. However, a few days later the creator of La familia P. Luche finally revealed what the project that links him to El chavo del ocho is about.
This is the recording of a commercial to promote the new content platform via streaming Dish Latino. In the spot we can see how El chavo 'gets off' from the screen and talks with Derbez, whom the campaign positions at his level as 'a Latin icon'.
After announcing this and realizing that Derbez's project had nothing to do with the rumored bioseries, Lalo España expressed his feelings about it and relieved his fans by assuring that it is not yet a fact that it is out of Grupo Chespirito's production for months.
Regarding Derbez's advertising campaign, the actor who gives life to “Germán” in the series Vecinos said:
“If you are smart, it is analyzed that if my dear Eugenio Derbez, 7 days after launching his campaign, plays something from Chavo del octo... a bioseries is not going to prepare it in 10 days or 15 days,” Lalo said. And he added that “it's not a fact that I stay, but if I stay, how cool. I don't know where scrubbed they got that I'm very hot, let them show me a publication,” he told the cameras of the program Firsthand.
Lalo España, who has made several videos in which he appears characterized as the characters of Roberto Gómez Bolaños in his desire to be considered in the casting of the series, acknowledged that he cannot get this project out of his head, since it is still in the process of auditions.
Spain stressed that his work, if he participated in the series, would not simply focus on imitating the physique and gestures of the remembered actor and playwright, but rather on an entire acting work of character creation, with everything and his psychology.
When asked what do you think about the performance of Juan Frese, the actor who characterized himself as El chavo del ocho, Spain replied:
“The fact that because he is someone famous internationally, people say: 'What a good imitator you are! ' , it is not a job of being an imitator, it is to touch the fibers, it is to understand all the nuances, all the ranges that a character has”, he stressed.
Since the end of 2020, the comedian announced that, since it became known that Roberto Gómez Fernández wanted to do a biographical project about his father, he raised his hand to be part of the castings. The Vecinos actor expressed that he has a great admiration for Chespirito for his career on television, as well as for his ingenuity to perform successful humorous characters.
