Bios. Lives that marked yours has become a special format for Latin American music lovers. Thanks to its different episodes, viewers have become more familiar with the lives of their favorite artists. A few days ago, a new episode of this production was released, which stars Andrea Echeverri and Hector Buitrago, who have been recognized for decades thanks to their musical project: Aterciopelados.
The episode, which can be seen on Star+ and is presented by fellow Colombian Li Saumet, reveals unknown details of the lives of both artists through rehearsals, intimate moments, unpublished images and a tour of the emblematic places of the band's history. If you haven't seen this chapter dedicated to the Colombian rock band yet, here are some details that are exposed in Bios and that, for sure, you won't want to miss.
1. The adventures Andrea lived in a family farm
The leader of Aterciopelados spent much of her childhood at the “Potrero Chico” farm, located in the eastern plains of Colombia. There, he walked on horseback, jumped into the river from high stones and went on long excursions. According to the artist, all these “extreme sports” made her a little fearful person, capable of getting on any stage.
2. Andrea's mother always marked her children when they went out of tune.
Surely many don't know it, but a lot of Andrea's talent comes from her mother, who always sang at social gatherings and was the life of the party. But that's not all. And that, during the long family car rides, when everyone was singing, she turned around, pointed her finger at them and said, “You're out of tune.”
3. Andrea's tattoo in honor of Hector
For those who had no idea about this, we told them that the duo Velvety had a loving relationship at the beginning of their career. Precisely, a memory remained of this romance: a tattoo that Andrea got that says “Necior”. According to the singer, it is a play on words that referred to how foolish Hector was at that time.
4. One of the triggers of the separation of Aterciopelados in 2011 was that Andrea was drinking a lot of alcohol
At a certain point in her career, Andrea needed to drink alcohol to get on stage. At that moment he had problems with his vocal cords and decided to cover them by getting drunk. Her problem ended up becoming a major inconvenience for the whole band, since she is not equally related either to Hector or to the work team in general.
So, tired of what happened, Hector gave him an ultimatum to acknowledge his problem, but Andrea took it very hard. All this ended in a delicate discussion that led to their separation. They did not speak to each other for 3 years. Both acknowledge that even today, the words that were spoken at that time still hurt them.
