The Attorney General's Office (FGR) destroyed a dozen vehicles with artisanal armor, of which 10 were known as monsters and used by drug trafficking cells in Tamaulipas.

According to the FGR report, the 12 units are involved in 12 investigations files for crimes committed in the border municipality of Reynosa, where Gulf Cartel cells are disputed.

The destruction of the vans was coordinated with the Secretariat of National Defence (Sedena) under the Destination Program of Assets and Objects of Crime, provided for in the National Code of Criminal Procedure.

Official experts, military personnel, staff of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office and the Internal Control Body verified that the proceedings were carried out in accordance with the applicable standard.

A video shared by the FGR shows the use of a crane to break the body, dismantle the remains and crush it in the process of conversion to scrap. The armored structures at the top were removed, from where hit men are stationed with heavy-caliber weapons.
