The scandal in which presidential candidate Federico Gutiérrez has been involved in the case of Gustavo Villegas continues to add details that call into question Gutiérrez's leadership as mayor of Medellín at the time. Well, in the last few hours, details were known about the Villegas investigation, because according to Caracol Radio, a former spokesman for the Envigado Office said that 'Fico' avoided the capture of his then Secretary of Security. It should be noted that the Antioquian leader has always emphasized that the mess in which Villegas was involved has to do directly with a mistake he committed in the face of an alleged extortion.

Julio Perdomo alias' JP 'or 'El Viejo' who was in charge of the spokesperson for the Envigado Office,' JP 'managed to meet with Gustavo Villegas at the time when he was serving as Secretary of Security, he was later captured in 2017, however, prior to this, conditions had been established for the submission of members of criminal groups in the region.

With regard to the Julio Perdomo file that Caracol Radio was aware of, it is possible to establish a very delicate alleged interference by Federico Gutiérrez, since it would have prevented the first attempt to arrest Gustavo Villegas by the Attorney General's Office. In addition to this, according to this information, the Secretary of Security had direct communication with the combos of this city, to which he informed them in advance when arrest warrants were issued against them, in addition to this, the said unit engaged in talks with the Envigado Office for the surrender and submission of several criminal groups, which were presented to the public as captures thanks to the management and successes of the Gutiérrez administration.

Perdomo is a 51-year-old demobilized paramilitary who began to carry out his criminal actions from 1992 to 2017, which was his year of capture. He became the leader of nine outlaw structures linked to the Envigado Office, his arrest warrant was issued from the Prosecutor's Office, considering that he is involved in two cases of forced displacement, since he was part of the Metro Block of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia in 2003. It should be noted that this subject also paid his sentence between 2010 and 2015.

For his part, Gustavo Villegas was directly linked to the administration of Sergio Fajardo and Federico Gutiérrez in the Medellín mayor's office, he has even had a long history in the governments of this city since the 1990s. Initially he worked as Secretary of Government of Fajardo and after that, he joined the leadership of 'Fico' to work on security aspects, in particular, Villegas has always been related to this type of issues in the capital of Antioquia.

In Medellín, crime and crime rates varied differently, however, there were consistently important results with regard to the reduction of criminal acts and homicide rates, a situation that was directly attributed to the management of the mayor's office, however, those numbers had to do with the agreements it had reached Villegas between the gangs, to increase or decrease criminal acts.

So far, there has been no strong response from former mayor Federico Gutiérrez to these allegations, considering that everything takes place within the framework of his presidential candidacy. In the last week, 'Fico' shaped his aspiration with the announcement of Rodrigo Lara Sánchez, as his vice-presidential formula for the elections on May 29.
