Migration Colombia announced on Monday, March 28, that in special official control and verification operations of the entity located at the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá, 35 Cuban citizens holding false Colombian transit visas.
It also specified that of the 35 Cubans arrested, 34 adults and one minor, 30 were inadmissible and immediately returned to the island, while of the remaining five, four were handed over to the competent authority for prosecution for falsehood in a public document, while the minor was left at the disposal of the ICBF for the restoration of their rights.
According to the 14th and a half news report, some of those involved said that “when they left Cuba, the authorities did not warn that the visas were fraudulent.” They also said that “official documents were managed and paid for online through relatives residing abroad”.

Similarly, Periódico Cubano indicated that it is not yet known whether the case would be about corruption and falsification of documents inside the Colombian Embassy in Havana, or whether the events were perpetrated by Cuban criminals. “In any case, the business of selling these visas is thriving more and more in Cuba, as many Cubans seek to leave the country at all costs,” the information portal said.
This month Colombian Migration officials also arrested in the city of Cartagena, foreign national Garafolo Forte Biaggio Benito, who was wanted in 193 countries, by the Spanish authorities, for the crime of drug trafficking.
He also assured that thanks to the expertise of the migration officers and the verifications carried out, they made it possible to establish not only that the man had entered irregularly through the department of La Guajira, but also that he was the same person who was wanted by the Spanish authorities, through Interpol's red circular .
Garafolo Forte Biaggio Benito, 49 years old, was left at the disposal of the competent authorities, to answer for the crimes charged to him.
Also in Cali, a Chinese citizen, identified as Gui Guo, was recently arrested, who was wanted by the Ecuadorian authorities, through Interpol's red circular, for the crime of extortive kidnapping.
The Chinese citizen was placed in the company of two other foreigners, in the middle of a procedure carried out by the Special Migration Group -GEM and the Tourism Police, in a prestigious apartment building in the capital of Valle del Cauca, after some residents of the sector filed a series of complaints about the behavior of Gui Guo and their companions, who reportedly held continuous parties, during which psychoactive substances were reportedly consumed, thus affecting the tranquility of the area.
