The national registrar, Alexander Vega, announced on Tuesday that, in order to ensure the correct and transparent course of the presidential elections to be held on May 29, the Registrar's Office made changes to the E-14 forms, as well as modifications for the participation of voting juries .
As the official explained, the objective of the redesign of the E-14 form is to “avoid any mistakes”, as it was reported in the last legislative elections. Vega also reported that the new document will also have larger boxes and will be in color.
Regarding the changes that will be made in front of the polling stations and juries, the national registrar indicated that, in order to avoid problems with information in the transmission of information, “control will be made in real time over everything that is transmitted that Sunday.”
Likewise, the national registrar announced that there will be new voting juries for the presidential elections, who will receive more in-depth training on the work they will have to do during the elections.
“We are going to do a new draw, with much deeper training, and the important thing is that we are going to ensure that no table is homogeneous in the country, they will be heterogeneous. We are going to vary the application sectors, prioritizing that of political parties, which will have all the guarantees for their candidates to run for voting juries,” Vega explained.
Among the changes, as reported by the registrar, the term of the platform for electoral witnesses will also be “extended”.
On the other hand, Vega recalled that, until Tuesday, March 29, Colombians will have a deadline to register their ballot papers for the presidential elections or change their voting position. According to the registrar, by Monday, March 28, the entity reported 1,349,570 citizens who had already requested the change of their voting station.
The official took the opportunity to call on the compatriots to carry out this procedure before 8:00 on Tuesday night, at the various points authorized by the National Registry Office.
1. The first thing you need to do to carry out the process is to verify at which polling station your ballot is registered. To do this, you must go to the entity's page: https://wsp.registraduria.gov.co/censo/consultar/.
2. If you enter your identity card on the website you see a different polling station than your place of residence or a message stating that your ID card is not active, you must go to the National Registrar's premises to change your polling place and/or register your ID card.
3. Once you approach the nearest point of the electoral authority, you must present your identity document to carry out the procedure. According to the national registrar, Colombians will have until 8:00 p.m. this Tuesday, March 29, to carry out either process.
When carrying out the procedure, the Registrar's Office informed that it will be able to verify its new voting position from April 29, through the website https://wsp.registraduria.gov.co/censo/consultar/.
Remember that, to carry out the process, the only identity documents that will be valid for you are the yellow citizenship card with holograms or the digital card.
