“Vecinos” paid tribute to Octavio Ocaña with a moving scene: “Fly high Benito”

Between tears and brief touches of humor, the cast of the series dedicated a few words that have shaken up on social networks because of the sadness of the moment

A few months after his departure and with the imminent absence of his performance in the new season of Vecinos, Octavio Ocaña received a very emotional tribute at the start of the installment where the actor played Benito Rivers for years, a role that brought him national fame and which to date his fans continue to play remembering with great affection for the “angel” he possessed.

On Sunday, March 27, the already announced tribute was broadcast on Las Estrellas, which according to the words of its producer Elías Solorio was more than deserved: “Today is a special day. We are premiering the new season of #Vecinos @Vecinosoficial with the absence of Octavio Ocaña #Benito. There's a tribute on the show. He deserves it,” he wrote on his Twitter account.

In the scene, each of the actors say goodbye in their own way with the justification of their absence: Benito got a great role in a series outside the country where he will play nothing more or nothing less than “an angel”. Eduardo España was in charge of dedicating the last words: “Mosco-nosed beggar, is that we are not going to be the same without you, but now you are an angel, our angel... Fly high Benito, fly high. Octavio will always be our Benedict,” said the actor.

The moving scene that is already viral on social networks and has not stopped trending on platforms such as Twitter began with a lot of comedy that slowly slowed down and took a serious tone, because actress Ana Bertha Espín who is Lorena Rivers, Benito's mother in the series: “Son, was waiting for your call , the neighbors know and they all want to wish you good luck... I love you too, I couldn't tell you last time but I love you my love”, said the actress tearfully.

César Bono was not far behind and as the popular filmmaker who lives from his memories in films, Frankie Rivers, mentioned his affection to him: “Benito son, yes, I know you didn't want to be an actor, nor did you want to be an actor disguise you or listen to my scripts, alas if you forgive me condemned kid... I just wanted you to be a great actor like your father. Look at you now son, you're a big star,” added the actor in the scene where they pretend to talk on the phone with Octavio Ocaña.

Other characters joined by dedicating brief lines in their farewell, those of Mayrín Villanueva (Silvita) being another of the most applauded ones: “Benito, we are going to think a lot about you, about that child we saw growing up with so much love and that he always gave us a smile.” Luis played by Dario Ripoll added: “Yes, the bipolar, the pelonchas... look, I just wanted to tell you that you were born with an angel and now that angel grew wings,” he said.

Pablo Valentín and the first actress Macaria also did their thing with a touch of humor. “My marinated potato head, nothing will be the same without you, now who am I going to play with. We already need all of you, Rambo too,” said the character of Pedro Mediana to finish off that of Magdalena López Pérez: “Benito on behalf of the prestigious and wealthy family... we will always carry you in our hearts”.

Before the premiere of the eighth season of the series Vecinos, Bertha Ocaña, sister of the late actor Octavio Ocaña, sent an emotional message in which she invited her followers not to miss the first episode of the production by Televisa: “So the networks a little before the premiere of the new season of Vecinos. We are more proud than ever of our Octavian. It shone as much on earth as it does in heaven now, thank you for making it so immortal in this life.”
