Colombian singer Sebastián Yatra surprised everyone by parading the red carpet at the 2022 Oscars wearing a unique pink suit. The performer of 'red heels' is not nominated for any Academy Award, but will sing at the gala the song “Dos Oruguitas”, from the film 'Encanto'.

The artist was one of the first to parade through the famous 'red carpet' prior to the most important ceremony in the film industry and his unique costume quickly became a trend. Fashion experts indicated that Yatra wore a genderless and glam style , “worthy of being admired,” they said.

Like Daniel Craig and Jake Gyllenhaal on other red carpets, the artist and Tommy Hilfiger ambassador reaffirmed the validity of pink with a three-piece suit: a buttoned vest, a jacket jacket and dress pants. The design was specially created by Jeremy Scott for the pre-autumn 2022 collection of the Italian firm Moschino.

Yatra added to her look, a black bow on the neck, some striking black and pink lace-up loafers. A black wristwatch and neatly combed short hair was the finishing touch of a “striking and stunning” style.

“THE OSCARS ARE MY MIRACLE”

In a short interview for Tv Azteca, the singer said that being at the Oscars is “really a dream” and that this experience “is my miracle of singing here. It's an opportunity to enjoy it, and here I am enjoying it”

He revealed that while the nomination did not guarantee that he would be present at the ceremony, especially because of COVID, when he was called from the Academy to talk about his presentation he still couldn't believe it. “I didn't realize it until I was tonight. Until last night they were doing PCR tests on us. If something happens to me or someone on my team, I don't sing, then I couldn't talk to anyone.”

“Here I am representing Latin America, Spain and the countries that speak Spanish, this beautiful language and representing this culture as beautiful as that of Colombia and the 50 million Colombians who are enjoying this moment. Several of my colleagues are also going to climb on the stage to sing 'There is no talk of bruno',” he stressed.

OTHER COLOMBIANS ARE AT THE OSCARS

In addition to Sebastian Yatra, Carolina Gaitan and Mauro Castillo are another of the two Colombian protagonists in Hollywood, when they perform two of the songs from the film 'Encanto' at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For many, the nominated song must have been We Don't Talk About Bruno, which went viral on TikTok and Instagram and reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, but the Academy made an exception by including the song in the event, despite not being nominated.

This musical success will be performed by Carolina Gaitan and Mauro Castillo, who will be accompanied by Luis Fonsi, BeckyG and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who could win a golden statuette for best original song.

The Oscars return in all their glory after two years of restrictions due to the pandemic. The television network ABC, in charge of broadcasting, hopes to recover the lost audience in this 94th edition, although it decided, together with the Academy, to pre-record the awards ceremony in eight categories and give more time to interventions by the presenters Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall, and longer musical performances, such as presentation of “We Don't Talk About Bruno”, the viral hit of Disney's film “Encanto” that shook social media and playlists.
