This is how the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences paid an on-screen tribute to Mexicans Carmelita Salinas and Felipe Cazals, both of whom died in 2021.
On the night of October 16, the death of filmmaker Felipe Cazals was announced. It was through the social networks of the Guanajuato Film Fest who confirmed the news and sent his condolences to the family.
“We mourn the passing of the emblematic Mexican director Felipe Cazals at the age of 84. Our eternal admiration for him and our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. Thank you for giving so much to the cinema,” said the festival from its Twitter account.
“With deep pain, we let you know that the first actress Carmen Salinas, has passed away today, December 9, 2021 ″, Carmen Salinas's relatives announced through her official Twitter.
The actress was hospitalized for several days and in a coma after having suffered a stroke, according to the statements released by her nephew Gustavo Briones through social media. The relatives of the actress pointed out that her state of health was very serious due to the cerebral vascular disease she suffered.
