Juan Carlos Lizarzaburu, congressman of Fuerza Popular, considered that the march called for this Sunday in favor of the vacancy of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, which will be debated this Monday in Congress, did not have the expected call.
The mobilization was called for four o'clock in the afternoon on the Paseo de los Heroes Navales, near the Palace of Justice. However, until six o'clock in the afternoon, it had gathered only a few hundred people, as could be seen in the images broadcast on Canal N.
“It seems to me that there are few people, it seems to me that they are not quite crowded as would be expected. I haven't really been following this march. I just got back from my week of representation in the US. “Lizarzaburu said.
“I see in the march that they are patriots who march and go out to the streets to raise their voices. People are very tired, they are very fed up, with everything they see, what is on the networks. People are free to go out and demonstrate. Happily, it is a demonstration in order where there are no abuses,” he added.
Regarding the presence of the aprista party at the march, he indicated that he sees more “the colors of the patriotic parties, but that above all they have representation in Congress”, something that the star party lacks.
FUERZA POPULAR WILL VOTE IN BLOC
On Monday's vote in Congress, Lizarzaburu assured that his bench will vote as a bloc in favor of Pedro Castillo's vacancy.
Regarding the positions of congressmen Hernesto Bustamante and Raúl Huamán, legislators of their bench who prefer Castillo to complete their five years of government, Lizarzaburu indicated that deal with personal statements and that they refer to “what would be the ideal”.
“The ideal thing for a democratic country that loves freedom are periods of every five years of presidents,” he explained.
VACANCY AGAINST PEDRO CASTI
It should be recalled that on March 8, the opposition filed a second vacancy motion against President Pedro Castillo. This was the initiative of the Popular Renewal Congressman, Jorge Montoya, who got his motion to have 50 signatures, of the 26 he needed to be able to present it.
Unlike the first motion for presidential vacancy, promoted by Patricia Chirinos of Avanza País, this new request won the votes needed to be debated and call the president to to answer the questions of the Congress on 28 March. On March 14, it was possible to get 76 congressmen to vote in favor, 41 against and one abstention.
In total, the motion document raises 20 reasons why Pedro Castillo should stop being president of Peru. It is recalled that this motion came after businesswoman Karelim López testified before the prosecution, as an aspiring effective collaborator.
