On March 26, Mexican singer Christian Nodal had an appointment with his followers in the city of Medellín, where they were eagerly waiting for him to listen to his musical hits, regardless of the weather or time; but after a while the musician never appeared on stage and then sent a message of apology arguing which for various reasons related to flights had not been able to land in the capital of Antioquia, so the show would be canceled.
“Today it is impossible for me to be there to sing to them, today I have been trying to get to 'Medallo' (Medellín) in every possible way and I couldn't. I took two different planes, there were technical failures and the weather was not in our favor. I hope you understand that this got out of our hands,” he said in the video, widely disseminated on social networks.
The disgust happened to the people who had stood in line, had endured the rain and had waited for hours for Nodal to appear, so they demanded that they give them an answer about their ballots and money, moreover, because they commented that the organizers did not announce the artist's absence in time.
“The doors were going to open it at 4 in the afternoon and that didn't happen. It was 7 o'clock in the evening and people were still coming in. Some DJs played, then it started to rain, Jerry Rivera came out, the MS Band that played like 90 minutes and finally Jessi Uribe. It was 2:20 in the morning and the whole box began to vacate. Nodal did not arrive,” said one of the attendees of the failed concert in an interview with the newspaper El Tiempo.
So on March 27, Nodal came out once again and assured that he will return all the money to his followers understanding that he did not fulfill his commitment.
“From the bottom of my heart, I know that words don't change things, I know money doesn't change things either, but for my part I'm not going to keep any penny of what I've been paid for that show and I'm going to give it back completely,” said the Mexican singer and added: “I hope the businessmen will look for a way to compensate my Colombian public for all this that happened and I repeat these things had never happened to me in my career”.
Another musical show that had to be canceled in Colombia was the concert that would lead the Foo Fighters at the Estéreo Picnic Festival. On March 26, at 10 o'clock in the evening, just an hour before performing at the festival, the legendary band had to cancel their show because the group's drummer Taylor Hawkins died suddenly at the hotel they were staying in Bogotá.
Despite the fact that news headlines in the world's major media reported Hawkins' death, none of the EFF attendees could believe it. It was only until 25 minutes later, when Eric Burton, vocalist of the Black Pumas, appeared on the Adidas stage of the FEP to ask for a minute of silence in honor of the famous drummer that the audience believed what until a few minutes ago they considered a rumor.
Immediately, on the main stage of the FEP, where the Foo were going to be presented, messages appeared from the organizers of the event regretting the fact. The fans did not move from the area and, on the contrary, cried at the foot of the stage. Meanwhile, candles were lit on the stage in honour of Hawkins.
