Stereo Picnic Festival: Marina Diamandis presentation goes to Sunday due to problems with her flight

Páramo, the festival organizer, has not yet confirmed whether those who have Saturday tickets will be able to enter with her on Sunday to see this presentation

The setbacks do not stop at the 2022 edition of the Stereo Picnic Festival. After the tragic and sudden death of percussionist Taylor Hawkins, which resulted in the cancellation of the Foo Fighters show at the event — plus the rest of their world tour — they now face a delay in one of their surprise acts: Marina Diamandis.

This is how the organizers announced through social networks. They said that the singer from Wales had trouble getting to Colombia from Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Of course, they said in the same message that Diamandis will be presented on the last day of the festival — Sunday, March 27 — at a time yet to be determined.

For his part, Diamandis warned of the problem through his Twitter account: “Colombian fans! My performance date at the Estéreo Picnic changed to TOMORROW due to unforeseen circumstances. I'll let you know the time as soon as possible. I'm really excited to see you all!”

On January 31, Páramo confirmed that Marina would be the new surprise artist of this version of the festival. The artist, born in Wales, was going to perform this Saturday at the Briceño 18 Golf Course and would share the date with J Balvin; C Tangana and Martin Garrix.

However, it is not yet known whether those who purchased a single day ticket for Saturday with the intention of seeing her will receive the same courtesy as those who attended this Friday to see Foo Fighters: use their ballot to enter Sunday at no additional cost.

In fact, the organization issued another statement suggesting the opposite: they say that only those who have a Friday ballot — not the proof of purchase, but the ballot — will be able to make use of this exception. They also close the possibility of returning money for this cause.

Marina Diamandis is a singer born in Wales and of Greek descent whose music can be pigeonholed into electronic indie pop. She is 36 years old and has been active in the industry since 2005, when she started under the name Marina and the Diamonds. Among her most renowned songs are “Hollywood”, “Primadonna” and “How to be a heartbreaker”.

Last October 2021, the artist announced that she would be part of different events around the world. The singer, according to what she said, and with what has already been confirmed, will be singing live at the Lollapalooza festival that will have its version in Brazil and Argentina. The performer began her tour on February 2, 2022, in San Francisco, in the United States. The tour will end on May 25 in Dublin, Ireland, after having toured North America, South America and Europe.

In June 2021, Marina Diamandis presented Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land, her most recent album. It is their fifth studio album, and it had the collaboration of a large group of women composers and producers.
