The unexpected death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins affected Miley Cyrus emotionally. The American singer broke into tears when she remembered her friend and did not hesitate to dedicate the song 'Angels Like You' to him during her presentation at Lollapalooza Brazil.
In the eyes of her thousands of fans, Miley did not hesitate to stand in the middle of the stage to explain that she had a rather difficult week during her South American tour, because when she was traveling to Paraguay, lightning struck her plane and they had to land in an emergency.
She said that the first person she called was Taylor Hawkins and he calmed her down, without imagining that that same day, hours later, he would die in a hotel in Colombia while waiting for his presentation with the Foo Fighters.
Likewise, through her Twitter account, the singer indicated that she was not very eager to do her show, but that she should do it in memory of her friend, who would have wanted her to continue despite the difficult situation she is going through.
“Tonight's show is in honor of my friend Taylor Hawkins. The baddest guy I know who wanted me to shine and sing LOUD for the love of Rock N' Roll! I have this with a little help from my friend TH above and from all of you. We're going to do it,” he wrote.
She complied with what she pointed out on her popular social network, also when she had to go on stage, the first thing her talk about Taylor Hawkins did and she broke into tears by pointing out that she would like to be with him right now; however, this would not be possible, indicating that her song 'Angels Like You' was dedicated to him.
“We had to make an emergency stop and the first person I called was Taylor Hawkins. I couldn't see my friend, I would do anything to be with him, I can't imagine how the Foo Fighters feel, I want to dedicate 'Angels Like You' to him,” he said before he started singing.
WHAT DID THE COLOMBIAN PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE SAY ABOUT THE DEATH OF TAYLOR HAWKINS?
The drummer of Foo Fighters was found dead in his hotel room before performing at the 2022 Stereo Picnic Festival in Colombia. The reasons for his death remain a mystery until now, although the Colombian Public Prosecutor's Office has published its first investigations in this regard.
“In the urine toxicology test carried out on Taylor Hawkins' body, 10 types of substances were preliminarily found, including: THC (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids,” he said in a statement.
It should be noted that the investigations are not yet complete. The Institute of Legal Medicine announced that it will continue medical studies to determine exactly what the causes of death of the drummer were.
