Magaly Medina told details of her state of health in an interview with a local media outlet and what surprised locals and strangers was that she revealed that she is taking pills to control her depression, which she would have stopped approximately 15 years ago, according to the journalist.
As you know, the show host told a few months ago on her program Magaly TV La Firme that she had been suffering from depression since she was 23 years old and that it was a chronic condition, so she had been taking pills for many years. However, he learned to control it without them, which allowed him to leave them.
Now the popular 'Magpie' has had to resort to medication again to regulate the levels of serotonin in her blood, also known as the 'hormone of happiness'. This is because he recently went through a hard time in his life.
“My depression is biochemical, it's not like others that are born of some loss. Right now I had a depressive episode, I really felt like I didn't want anything and they did some tests and found that serotonin was failing me,” he began saying to the Trome newspaper.
“That's why I went back to taking antidepressants after 14 or 15 years after I stopped the pills. I'm taking them for a short time to balance my serotonin,” he added.
She also stressed that the pills cause her mood to change, which has an impact on her work and with those around her. “Of course, going through this episode changes my mood, but the boys (their 'urracos') already know me, they have worked with me for many years.”
During her interview, Magaly Medina said that at 58 she takes great care of her lifestyle, as she tries to exercise whenever she can and eat healthy, since the psychiatrists who were treating her recommended it.
“I take great care of my physical and mental health because I exercise a lot, because at the age of 23 I was diagnosed as chronic depressant and for many years I spent it on antidepressants, pills for anxiety. And at one point, the psychiatrists who treated me told me that one of the things I had to do to get serotonin to the neurotransmitters in my brain well was to do exercises, and so, by my own decision, I started to give up the pills,” said the figure of ATV.
