This Saturday, March 26, some of the matches of matchday 13 of the BetPlay League were held, of which Deportivo Pereira hosted Independiente Medellín, a match that left the score at equals 1-1.
After the end of the match, Julio Comesaña, technical director of the Antioquia squad, commented at the press conference that he ended up annoying with the performance of the referee Nicolás Gallo during the aforementioned match.
A few minutes after the end of the first half, the 'powerful' was left without a player, because in 44′ Juan David Mosquera received a direct red. In addition, before Mosquera, two more players fouled, where one of them ended up in the penalty that opened the score in favor of the locals.
These two situations were questioned by Comesaña, who explained that the foul, prior to the penalty, did not justify the decision of the central judge to collect it from the danger zone, and that, in addition, he did not call a “very clear” foul on Andrés Cadavid, which was to collect a penalty.
“Today I am going to talk about football and the refereeing of Mr. (Nicolás) Gallo, with the respect he deserves me. Mr. Gallo left us out last year in the championship, he canceled a goal against Juan Pablo Gallego that only cancelled it yesterday, and in this match he stopped beeping a very clear penalty like that of Andrés Cadavid.
He added that: “Check it out so that you can see and throw (Juan David) Mosquera out on an unusual move. He jumps and in the back, does not see the player and as any football player is taught that he must jump with open arms to protect himself, he jumped and the player from Pereira stuck with him. I don't know what it is, we all make mistakes, but I didn't like Mr. Gallo's refereeing today, or in the match in Medellín. That's what I have to talk about arbitration.”
Now, Comesaña also gave a balance of the match and confessed that he was satisfied and calm with the work that Independiente Medellín did, mainly in the second half when Luciano Daniel Pons scored the draw.
“We had to do something to get ourselves together, we put Juan Guillermo Arboleda as a third centre-back and with José Hernández Chavez we put up four fliers, so that with Andrés Ricaurte he managed the ball, lower the revolutions and we did it, Germán Gutiérrez appeared on the left, until Luciano Pons scored the draw. Jose had to do a task and that's why I decided to change it to put Juan Manuel Cuesta who is a more powerful player, we had a feeling of pain to win,” Comesaña said.
With this tie, Independiente Medellín has 22 points in the standings, thus finishing fourth, a location that ensures qualification to the home runs, although still a little less than half of the 'all against all' to be disputed.
Finally, the next match of the team led by the Uruguayan coach, for the local tournament, will be on Saturday, April 2 against Envigado in local condition. Now, on the 8th of that same month, he must face Guaireña, from Paraguay, for the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.
