AMLO supervised coking plant in Tula: 'We are not going to buy gasoline abroad'

The current government's additional investment totals about 2.5 billion dollars to complete a plant that began in past administrations

On his tour of the center of the country, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador boasted oversight at the Tula coking plant and assured that the complex at the Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) facilities will allow energy self-sufficiency without buying gasoline or diesel abroad.

Roció Nahle, head of the Ministry of Energy, explained that the Tula coking plant in Hidalgo state will have a capacity of 85,000 tons to process local fuel oil and fuel from the refinery in Salamanca, Guanajuato.
