Among the main contenders are Coda: Signs of the Heart, Drive My Car, The Power of the Dog and the films by Steven Spielberg and Guillermo del Toro, Love Without Barriers and The Alley of Lost Souls. What will ultimately be the winner? We don't know it yet, but we did choose 10 Oscar-winning films for Best Film and Best Animated Film, so you can prepare your palate.
Parásitos - (Netflix)
It became a revolution that transcended the film industry and crowned its premiere year (presentation at festivals and most industry awards) with the Oscar for Best Film in 2020. Spider-Man: A New Universe - (Netflix)
Cool, fun and an impeccable soundtrack. It became the standard in animated cinema and took advantage of Marvel's unbeatable moment. Thanks to this, films such as The Mitchell Family vs. The Machines, which are competing for the Oscar for Best Animated Film this year.
After being bitten by a radioactive spider, young Miles Morales develops mysterious powers that transform him into Spider-Man. Now he must use his new abilities against the evil Kingpin, a famous madman who can open portals to other universes. There he will meet other Spider-Man who will help him save the day.

Luz de luna - (Google play, Youtube, Flow)
It was the winner for Best Picture that night when Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty read the wrong envelope and provisionally won La La Land. But Barry Jenkins' film had won the votes to be the winner. Moonlight or Moonlight is a stark story about Chiron, a boy who lives in a troubled area of Miami and who begins to discover his sexuality... in fear. As he grows up in a hostile environment, he experiences joy, anger, pleasure from beauty, ecstasy and pain. As the years go by, the young man discovers himself trying to survive different situations.

La forma del agua - (Star Plus)
More than 20 years of career for Guillermo del Toro to win his precious Oscar. It was for La forma del agua, not his most valuable work, but it was the one that won the film industry and its voters to win the top prize. However, it is a beautiful, distinguished, exciting and very well told title in which del Toro put all his cinephilia into action in the mix of genres and in the use of that monster to tell a love story as powerful as its images.
Baltimore, 1960. Elisa, a mute since she was a baby, works in the night cleaning area at an aerospace research center. One night, while he is cleaning in a high-security area, he sees how they bring a capsule with a strange being inside it to the laboratory. It's about an amphibious man, with whom he falls in love. From then on, Elisa devises a plan to free the beast.

Soul (Disney+)
Soul is an animated film but with a message and character development so complex and enjoyable that it won more adults than children. New York is one of the protagonists, but the desires, dreams and obsessions of a jazzy pianist are the focus of the film. Also that lost soul called 22. One of Pixar's most adult works.
The story revolves around Joe Garner, a high school music teacher whose main dream was always to have a chance at a legendary jazzy club in New York because of his love for the genre and linked to a passion he shared with his father. Having an accident and falling into a sewer, Joe's soul separates from his body and is on his way to the end of his life. Rejecting his fate, Joe's soul tries by all means to return to life but ends up in The Great Antes, a mystical place where souls train before they reach Earth to inhabit the flesh of newborns. There he meets 22, a soul who does not accept his destiny and prefers to stay as a soul without the apparent need to live.

Zona de miedo - (Netflix)
Kathryn Bigelow is the director and one of two women to have ever won the Oscar for Best Director. But that year it was a double prize for her as she also won the Best Film Award. There were six in total for The Hurt Locker, a very harsh portrait of war, its consequences and human relations in that context. Unmissable tension management, portrait and successful interpretations.
Sergeant William James, Sergeant J.T. Sanborn and Specialist Owen Eldridge are members of the specialized bomb unit in Baghdad. Their missions reach their final weeks and men face very dangerous situations in which they risk their lives in the face of a possible explosion.

Green Book: A Friendship Without Borders - (HBO Max)
It wasn't for Rome. In 2019, everything was given for the Netflix original feature film to take the statuette, but it ended up in the hands of Green Book. Peter Farrelly, director of the film, knew he had a powerful story, one of those that the Academy likes and hired two actors who know how to take risks. The result: he won three statuettes for Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali and Best Film.
1960s. Tony Lip, a tough Italian-American from the Bronx, is hired as the driver of the virtuoso black pianist Don Shirley. Both will embark on a concert tour of the Southern United States, where Tony will follow “The Green Book”, a guide to establishments where African-Americans are accepted. Argo - (HBO Max)
