The death of one of the best drummers on the world rock scene, such as Taylor Hawkins, has not stopped generating reactions and emotional messages about his disappearance, a few hours after making his presentation at the Estéreo Picnic Festival in Bogotá.
Foo Fighters was undoubtedly one of the bands that had been called for the most by the event, despite the fact that the festival's lineup had other great artists for its first day this Friday. The closing show was run by the Americans, but they finally didn't go on stage after what happened with their drummer.
The band announced the regrettable event that took place in a hotel in the north of the Colombian capital, where authorities had to cordon off the place after identifying Hawkins' lifeless body. Although the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Prosecutor's Office is already carrying out the rigorous investigations, the circumstances under which his death took place are not clear and this Saturday there is an answer to the cause of the death of the world music star.
Foo Fighters came from making some presentations in countries such as Chile and Argentina and there were still other presentations in the south of the continent, the which had to be canceled for obvious reasons.
The Seattle group, which has already been on stage for 28 years and 26 of them with Taylor on drums, has left an emotional message about their friend on social media announcing the bad news on Friday night before making their announced presentation.
They also invited that in the face of this sad eventuality, the privacy of the family and the band be respected. Meanwhile, those attending the Estéreo Picnic, who were eager to see Dave Grohl's band, regretted what happened and expressed their feelings through social networks.
Several of the attendees experienced the most important moment when the stage was filled with candles in honor of Taylor Hawkins while the band's iconic song “My Hero” played, which they sang with great feeling, while the main screen of the stage could read “Taylor Hawkins Forever”.
Even one of the bands that closed the event on Friday, Black Pumas, asked attendees for 1 minute of silence to honor the memory of the drummer of Foo Fighters, which was well received by the audience who later set out to sing the songs of the group that was present.
The band has so far not returned to the events and the steps they will seek to take after the death of their friend Taylor Hawkins are unknown. Meanwhile, fans try to process what happened after a long wait for the band and then encounter this sad news.
