Election campaigns are underway, presidential candidates are already implementing political plans and alliances ahead of the elections that will take place on May 29. After the Democratic Center joined Federico Gutiérrez and Cesar Gaviria closed the door to the Historical Pact, it now appears that Fajardo is looking to generate some alliances for the Centro Esperanza coalition, so he would meet with fellow candidate Rodolfo Hernandez.
The former mayor of Medellín has already met with Ingrid Betancourt and now he would have everything ready to talk to Rodolfo Hernández. According to information published by Semana, the candidate of the Centro Esperanza coalition asked him for an appointment while he was in Europe and he did so through a friend they have in common.
Apparently Rodolfo Hernández himself confirmed to the aforementioned media outlet that the meeting between the two political figures would take place this Monday, March 28 in the Colombian capital. However, it is still unknown whether the candidate responded positively to Sergio Fajardo's request, despite the fact that the venue of the meeting would have already been finalized and would be held at the Salinas Restaurant in the north of Bogotá.

Added to all this is the message of Green Alliance Senator Angelica Lozano, who via Twitter sent an invitation to the presidential candidate. Upon his arrival from Europe, Hernández published a trill in which one could read: “I came back, did they miss me?” , to which Lozano commented: “Yes! a lot! Dear Rodolfo Hernandez, When do you have coffee with Sergio Fajardo”.
It should be noted that the relationship between the senator and the former mayor of Bucaramanga is very good. In 2015 he celebrated with a photograph the election of Hernandez as mayor, in 2016 he celebrated the placing of a flag of the LGBT community in front of a local administration building. In 2020 the two met and had a conversation in Bogotá. Weeks later Rodolfo Hernández and Angelica Lozano toured the capital of Santander and now as a candidate, the representative of the Green Alliance has repeatedly congratulated him.
It is important to note that according to the General Registrar of the Nation, there were 20,785,120 people who did not exercise their right to vote in the legislative elections, so one of the strategies of the Centro Esperanza coalition is to involve politicians who were not part of the interparty consultation, as is the case with Rodolfo Hernandez.

According to the YanHaas poll, Rodolfo Hernández is the third candidate with the highest intention to vote among Colombians, reaching 11%, while Sergio Fajardo is fourth with 10%. Gustavo Petro, from the Historical Pact, leads the poll with 37%, while Federico Gutiérrez of Team for Colombia is second with 19%.
The alliance between Sergio Fajardo and Rodolfo Hernández seems somewhat complicated as the former mayor of Bucaramanga told Semana that he accepted the meeting “because dialogue is free”. In addition, a few weeks ago he had made it clear that his intention that he would go only until the first presidential round.
