The gala of the 94th edition of the 2022 Oscars will be held this Sunday, March 27 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, in the United States. The event, which awards the best in cinema, will feature three ceremonial teachers Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes.
Just over 2,5000 attendees will be at a different ceremony due to COVID-19 protocols. People who want to enter the theater must show a vaccination certificate and two PCR tests with negative results. However, these restrictions are not for presenters or musical artists who will perform on stage.
“The Power of the Dog” tops the list with 12 nominations; Jane Campion is positioned as a favorite to take several statuettes. Even if she wins in the Best Director category, she would be the third woman to win this award after Kathryn Bigelow for “The Hurt Locker” in 2010 and Chloé Zhao for “Nomadland” in 2021.
In the musical scenes, the Grammy-winning singer Beyonce will present “Be Alive”, which belongs to the soundtrack of the film “The Williams Method” about the father of renowned tennis players Serena and Venus Williams.
Billie Elilish will perform the song “No Time To Die”, which she composed with her brother Finneas O'Connell, for the final installment of the James Bond saga.
“Dos oruguitas” will be sung by Colombian director Sebastián Yatra from Disney's film “Encanto”, which is also nominated for Best Original Song and Best Animated Feature Film.
