The Mexican comedian from Cuautla, Morelos, Franco Escamilla, made a joke on his Twitter account, referring to the death of the drummer the American band Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, which caused users of the social network to divide opinions, some in favor and others against.

Franco Escamilla posted a message on his social network, which reads: “I think getting together with Dave Grohl is bad luck.” Dave Grohl is the leader, vocalist and guitarist of the band Foo Fighters, and the comment was made that he was also part of the grunge band Nirvana, of which vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

After the comment, many of the comedian's followers commented on it, some saying it was just a joke, and others criticizing the comedian for considering it in bad taste.

For example, one of the users said that once one of her sisters showed her a show by the comedian, which she didn't like or was funny about. “One day a sister of mine said to me 'Don't you know Franco Escamilla? It's terrific!” I said no and he played me a video, I endured it for 10 minutes without even laughing at all and I said, “Well, what excuse me? And this guy lives in this? Net what is worth her life and yours,” said the user.

Another user said that “I don't trust people whose humor is based on Franco Escamilla jokes.” Another user shared the comedian's tweet, and said: “Zero empathy, zero grace but what to expect from a guy without any talent... who is Franco Escamilla?”

Other users supported the comedian. One of the followers posted: “People offended by this tweet, joke or not because we care what someone else says? Why does it offend us? Not that people are free to express themselves, or do we fall into hypocrisy that if it offends me it bothers me, but if I don't laugh? Regardless of the subject. Give up your double standards.”

“For those who are offended by this tweet, go and read the comments on the news. This tweet is not offensive at all. Offensive is that they make fun of how Taylor Hawkins died,” another user said.

On the other hand, Franco Escamilla was also criticized for a joke, which many described as a pedophile. Through a video that was spread on social networks, Franco Escamilla is seen in a show, where he tells a joke that many described as bad taste.

In the video, Franco Escamilla is heard saying: “Look at the first time I came, they put a little boy to help me, they said: Franco, whatever you need here is this boy, I told them: I can take it, no, no, then it is not for what I want, he said to me, no good, ask him, and if he wants, and I said: no, if he wants it, he is not cool anymore, I'm obviously joking, no, I did screw it up, of course.”

This joke also divided opinions among the stand-up comedian's followers, as some claimed that it was a bad joke that encouraged pederasty, while others said that he never mentioned that it was someone under age, and that it was just a joke.

“Can you also do the same with the disgusting Franco Escamilla? I don't know if they hit his “joke” pedophile rapist that he released in Colombia. I don't doubt that I have more of those, but since I don't consume it, it's the only one I can refer to,” said one user who shared the video.

“Apparently they are all experts now in Comedy hahahaha, I want to see them filled in the national auditorium, Franco Escamilla's joke may you like it or not, but it's still a joke,” said another user of the social network.
