Doja Cat has become a trend again on social media, and not precisely because of her catchy hits such as “Say So”, “Woman” or “You Right”. The American singer has been harshly criticized for having alleged xenophobic attitudes against her Paraguayan fans, which has aroused the fury of other Latin American countries.

The controversy began when the artist had to cancel her presentation at the Asunciónico Festival due to weather conditions, as did the singer Miley Cyrus. However, the statement and his way of expressing himself about his Paraguayan followers was what upset netizens.

There was a storm in Paraguay and the show was canceled,” he wrote on his Twitter account. He then added: “When I left the hotel the next morning, there was no one at the door waiting for me. Get over it.”

Immediately, her followers reacted with a cataract of responses, accusing her of being “liar” and “rude”. Several fans uploaded photos and videos of a crowd waiting outside their hotel despite the incessant rain, thus proving that what the rapper said was not true.

What's more, others mentioned that the international artist would have performed a private show inside the hotel, asking attendees not to look her in the eye when singing. This was supported by other netizens, who also pointed out that Doja Cat wanted to take pictures with anyone.

But the thing didn't stop there. More users joined the “cancellation” and searched through the American artist's “likes” on Twitter, finding that Doja Cat had 'liked' a tweet that said: “Paraguayans don't have money to feed their children, let alone pay for a show by her.”

THE MEMES

As expected, Paraguayan followers used social media to demonstrate their rejection of Doja Cat. But they weren't the only ones, as fans from other Latin American countries, such as Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, among others, came together to attack the American singer. These were some memes.

DOJA CAT GIVES UP HER MUSIC CAREER

I quit, I can't wait to disappear and I don't need you to believe in me anymore... Everything is dead to me, the music is dead, and I'm a fool for thinking I was made for this, this is a j**** nightmare. Stop following me.”

Minutes later, he changed his Twitter name to “I quit” ('I quit' in Spanish) and after a couple of hours to “I quit still” ('I still quit'). His last update was on Instagram where he shared the horoscope, which indicated that “everyone was going to be against him”.
