Deadly scale in Colombia: tragic deaths of some foreign characters

The passage through our country represented the end of the road for these people for various reasons.

On March 25, the drummer of the rock band Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, died in Bogotá. The lifeless body of the famous musician was found in a hotel located north of Bogotá. The musician was in the capital of Colombia to perform at the Estereo Picnic Festival with the band, which had to cancel their performance.

This loss brings to mind other tragic deaths of famous people, who passed through the country and lost their lives due to various causes.

On June 23, 1935, Carlos Gardel sang his tangos for the last time before the audience of Medellín, on the balcony of Radio La Voz. On June 24, his plane crashed with another one on takeoff and both caught fire. The accident left 17 dead, including the singer, his secretary, his guitarist and his manager.

Although the artist died in 2014 after being disconnected from the machine that kept him alive, he remained in a coma for four years because of a stroke he suffered in Caracas, Venezuela, on May 15, 2010.

However, businessman Julio Correal and others close to him said that the Argentine singer had been feeling unwell from Bogotá, where he performed on May 14. I was nervous about a transatlantic flight I needed to board and it took a lot, although I wasn't supposed to because I had already suffered thrombosis.

The Brazilian football team Chapecoense would play the first leg of the 2016 Copa Sudamericana against the Colombian team Atlético Nacional. The plane in which they were transporting to Medellin disappeared from the radar on the night of Monday, November 28.

Then it was confirmed that he was wrecked and 19 players died, plus the coach and others traveling with the team. The Lamia airline plane had loaded fuel in Santa Cruz de la Sierra just to reach the José María Córdova Airport in Rionegro, but a slight delay made it unable to hold up in the air and hit Cerro Gordo in the municipality of La Unión.
