The Ministry of Health reported that today, March 26, 2022, there are 348 new cases of covid-19 in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 12,711 tests were processed, of which 4,7721 are PCR and 7,939 are antigens.
The report also notes that 14 Colombians died of the disease on the last day. In this way, the country reaches a total of 139,558 deaths due to the virus since the start of the pandemic.
By aggregating all the figures, Colombia reached a total of 6,083,291 infections, of which 4,494 are active cases and 5,916,253 correspond to positive cases that have already managed to overcome the disease.
The most recent report from the Ministry of Health also indicates that as of 11:59 on Thursday, March 24, 2022, a total of 80,331,285 doses of the vaccine against covid-19 had already been applied in Colombia.
According to the same report, the number of Colombians with the complete vaccination schedule, that is, those who have already received the two doses of the biological, currently amounts to 28,329,857 people, while 6,314,790 people have been immunized with single doses. Likewise, 10,095,438 booster doses have been applied.

On the morning of Friday, March 25, the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, announced that the Government gave the green light for the country to apply a third dose of Pfizer's vaccine against covid-19 to Colombians between the ages of 12 and 17.
This was announced by the head of portfolio from the unified command post in the city of Cartagena, where he also gave a reflective message on the importance of immunizing against the coronavirus in full economic recovery.
“Today we announced the expansion of the booster vaccine to the population aged 12 to 17 with Pfizer biologics, which will allow us to strengthen protection and immunity in adolescents,” Minister Ruiz announced.
It should be clarified that such determination will take place after the last dose has reached four months after its date of application.
In the same vein, MinSalud also highlighted progress in the application of vaccines throughout Colombia. “We completed the 80 million doses of vaccines applied, exceeding 82% of the population with immunized with at least one dose, and reached 10 million booster vaccines supplied in the country,” the official said.
However, Ruiz warned that, although they have all the necessary biologics for citizens, they showed “a decrease in the speed of vaccine application in the country, which should lead us to intensify efforts and be rigorous with the reporting of vaccinated by the territories,” he urged, in turn asking the mayors and governorates that “carry out the exercise of vaccines in the collection centers, report those that have been applied, in order to have clarity on where there are vaccines not applied,” added the head of the Health portfolio.
