Irma Dorantes said she does not intend to participate in projects that use the image of Pedro Infante. The reason he decided this is because “I don't feel like it”.
Pedro Infante's second wife, Irma Dorantes, said she doesn't intend to be part of events, films or documentaries where the actor is talked about because she thinks they only want to get money from his name.
In a recent meeting with the media, broadcast by De Primera Mano, the actress declared that “of course not” she would participate in projects about Pedro Infante. “No way. How can I not tell them that because I don't feel like it? No, I have nothing to do with those businesses, because that is pure business. Forgive me, but that's business and I don't play these businesses,” he added.
Dorantes commented that she understands why her husband's fans consume all kinds of products that deal with him or contain his image, but she disagrees with those who produce them and would like them to be free so that they would not continue to generate money with the name of the Idol of Gamúchil.
“I understand that people invest money to get money, it's logical. And the public also likes to see it and how good, I wish they would give it to them for free,” said the historist.
This is not the first time that the actress from Los Tres Huastecos has opposed this type of work, because when the film Como fell from heaven came out she said that no actor who plays Infante could do it correctly. In addition, she assured that she would not allow a biographical series about the singer to be made, although she is aware that she does not have the image rights of her late husband.
On the other hand, she appreciated that she was not taken into account in the distribution of her husband's inheritance, as this avoided problems. She also confessed that she did not need the name Pedro Infante to be able to support herself and her daughter after the actor's death, since his return to the cinema was triumphant.
“I have not received, thanks to God, a single penny that comes from inheritance, from business, from discos, from whatever is from Mr. Infante, ever. It gives me great pleasure, I feel very proud. I think that from before I was small, but empowered. No, I didn't want anything, I said: 'There you make balls, there you see yourself with the will or not will, kill yourselves, do what you want. ' He is already lost, what else is lost,” he said.
Irma also said that recent statements against Pedro Infante about the love relationships he had with young people who were minors, while he was already over 30, are out of time.
She stated that she never witnessed her husband abusing minors, nor does she consider herself a victim, so she thinks that these are accusations that they generate in order to talk about him.
“For how many years he's gone, why didn't they ask him? I don't know, I don't know anything about that. No, I never saw that, but since there is no longer what to treat or what to take out, then who knows,” he told the microphones.
