Peru ended with the anger and anxiety of a match that could have been a fair draw, but it didn't. The bicolor fell 1-0 in the middle of the controversy by an uncollected goal in its favor.

It was 92 minutes into the match when Uruguayan Rochet apparently saved a ball that made him take several steps back, putting his whole body inside the goal and with his hands holding the ball - or part of it - outside the goal line.

This action was claimed by the members of the white-red, but which the referee ignored and decided that it was not a goal and it was up to goalkeeper charrúa. Despite the protests of the Peruvian players, the VAR did not call the judge and everything remained the same.

The final whistle of Brazilian referee Anderson Daronco did not calm the mood and the first to approach him was Renato Tapia, who asked the judge for explanations, but he ignored him.

Then Ormeño, Calcaterra, Trauco, Cueva, Zambrano approached, but Daronco said no word, while the linesman tried to explain why he didn't win the goal.

The footage at the level of América TV also showed the face of concern and annoyance of our team, but they could do nothing to remedy the result.

In one part of the video you can see the linesman pointing out the line that, apparently, did not pass the ball and, therefore, did not claim the goal.

At another time, Christian Cueva approaches the main referee with some fear and after him the rest of the team, but before everything got out of control, Pedro Gallese and the rest of the coaching staff arrived to keep the players away.

Already at a press conference, Christian Cueva endured comments against referee Anderson Daronco. “The referees always try to intimidate with a yellow or red one... it's hard. And as much as we speak with all the respect in the world, they don't listen to us. I don't know why. We were uncomfortable with the situation”, accused Christian Cueva.

“We saw the play, for us it's a goal. It is difficult to talk about the referees, because we are always intimidated by the situation when they try to shut us up,” the footballer returned about what happened on the 'charrúa' court.

Likewise, Alexander Callens exploded in the face of this controversial situation and classified it as a robbery.

“I told the referee to check it and he told me he checked it. But I tell him that all people say it's a goal. Now they just showed me the image and it's a complete goal. We've been robbed. It's a robbery, it's a VAR,” commented the national defender in statements at the end of the match for reporter Michael Succar, from Movistar Deportes. However, that was not all, since the journalist insisted that if that was the only argument of the chief judge of this duel. “Yes, that's all he said to me. I told him to check it out and he said, “we checked it out.” But I told him to go to the VAR. A party of this magnitude cannot happen this,” he added enraged.
