These are the dates when you can get your invoices for property and vehicle tax in Bogotá

The Ministry of Finance recalled that some modifications were made to the payment of these tax obligations; now, all taxpayers must register with the Virtual Office to view their invoice and make the payment

The dates are approaching when Colombians will have to pay the bills for the 2022 Vehicles Tax and the Bogotá 2022 Property Tax; although recently the Ministry of Finance announced new deadlines for capital residents to comply with the payment of these tax obligations, it is important to remember from when you can check your invoice so as not to risk ignoring the payment.

Through its official channels, the Ministry of Finance recalled that both invoices can be consulted in its Virtual Office, a portal where Bogotans must register in order to access their invoices and, at the same time, make the payment of these taxes.

They added that the invoices for the 2022 Vehicle Tax will be available on the website at the end of March, while those for Predial Bogotá 2022 will be published in mid-April. These dates are a little later than was customary in previous years, due to the fact that the delivery of the invoices was delayed due to the recent changes made by the entity in terms of operation of its portals and new deadlines.

They recommended that citizens take into account that recently the entity renewed its virtual channels and these changes now require taxpayers to register at the entity's virtual office, to make the payment of their liabilities. The deadline for registering with the Virtual Office and paying your tax liabilities at a discount is two months.

Secretary Juan Mauricio Ramírez, “it is a process that requires everyone's commitment so that no one is going to be left without registration in the Virtual Office and everyone can do the paperwork. For this reason, we postpone the expirations of Property and Vehicles, the first for two long months and the second, within three.”

1. Taxpayers must visit the official website of the District Treasury Secretariat.

2. Go to the Virtual Office section and click on register new virtual office and then register here.

3. Select the type of document with which you are going to register and fill in the data requested.

4. Click on the OK option.

5. Answer the validation questions that the system throws up and click Send. It should be remembered that if the answers are not correct, the system will not allow you to move forward in the process.

6. Create your username and password. If you have previously registered an email on the page, this will appear, but you can modify it if you want.

7. You will receive an email confirming your registration to activate your account.

For strata 3, 4, 5 and 6, the invoice will be received by email. On the other hand, strata 1 and 2 will continue to receive their invoice at the registered address, although the Mayor's Office also recommends registration with the SAP,” recalled the entity.

The Treasury Secretary, Juan Mauricio Ramírez, explained that the payments of these two taxes will be made in a staggered manner and, in the case of the payment of the property, taxpayers will have until June 24 to comply with the obligation. However, if the Bogotá is interested in making the payment with the 10% discount, they must cancel it between May 9 and 24.

On the other hand, for the payment of the vehicle tax the deadline for the people of Bogota to cancel this tax until next July 15. But to access the discount, the payment deadlines were between 3 and 17 June.

The Ministry of Finance noted that approximately 3′336,000 taxpayers are included in the property and vehicle taxes in the city.
