The names of the 16 representatives to the House elected by the Special Transitional Peace Constituencies (Citrep) were finally confirmed, as recently announced by the National Registry of Civil Status and the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Along these lines, after the vote count, the two electoral entities reported the names of those who will occupy the 16 seats that the victims of the armed conflict will have in the Colombian Congress.

Similarly, the Registrar's Office, led by Alexander Vega Rocha, assured that in more than 69% of the country's territories the election of both senators and representatives to the House had already been declared, so that the seats received by the victims were established.
The peace seats were created as part of the signing of the peace agreement between the government of former President Juan Manuel Santos and the former FARC. However, they were regulated under the mandate of today's head of state, Iván Duque.
These constituencies, which were first elected in these elections, would have design flaws linked to the exclusion of municipal capitals, in which many displaced persons from conflict areas live. In addition, according to the electoral authorities, illegal funding of the candidates had been presented and the lack of security guarantees for some of the candidates prevented them from campaigning in some territories, as identified by the European Union Electoral Observation Mission.
On the other hand, since it became known that Jorge Rodrigo Tovar, son of Jorge 40, was elected as representative of the 12th District, which represents the municipalities of Cesar, Magdalena and La Guajira, the victims have expressed their disagreement that the son of one of their greatest perpetrators occupy that place in the Congress of the Republic.
However, with more than 14,900 votes obtained after the legislative elections last Sunday, March 13, Yoyo (as the young man is known) will become the congressman who will represent the victims of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and the Serrania del Perijá in the Congress of the Republic, with Citrep 12.
