Samuel García Sepulveda, governor of Nuevo Leon, warned that his predecessor Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, better known as El Bronco, will face more charges against him, because, according to his statements, during the past administration “there was a lot of corruption.”
García Sepúlveda welcomed the fact that at the beginning of his administration, the arrest warrant against the former governor of the regional montano state was formalized, after he was the one who denounced the Bronco for the use of illicit resources during his campaign as an independent candidate in the presidential elections of 2018.
“Many more research folders are coming, because there was a lot of corruption, and this one (that of the “bronchosignatures”) is the first one that was already ready because it was one of the oldest, it dates back to 2017,” said García Sepúlveda in an interview with Radio Formula.

The hearing in which the Bronco's legal fate will be decided is scheduled to take place on April 11, when the judge evaluates the evidence, the precautionary measure and define its legal status. However, García Sepúlveda assured that at that hearing, only the accusations of the “bronchosignatures” will be addressed.
“There is an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for the misuse of resources and abuse of authority over the issue of public transport and the Ecovia. The Nuevo León Prosecutor's Office would also be integrating another folder for the use of firearms exclusive to the army and diversion of resources, this due to the search carried out over the weekend at Jaime's homes,” he said.
In addition, the regional governor reported that high genetics and thoroughbred horses were found in one of the Bronco estates. According to Samuel García, the Palacio Rosa ranch is being investigated by state authorities to find out how and who paid for it.

“It was reported that the property can cost 25 million pesos, and it remains to add all the fine cattle of high genetics that are expensive, in addition to adding the thoroughbred horses that are expensive, we need to add the weapons, we need to add the ammunition, we need to add the 2 million and a bit that they found in cash and all that he is obliged to prove lawful origin”, he said.
According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, in the home located in the municipality of Galeana were confiscated: 2 million 100 thousand pesos in cash, two safes without knowledge of their contents, a 30x30 rifle and a 357 magnum revolver.
He also mentioned that the charges against the former governor are grounds for neglecting other adversities that Nuevo León faces, this after Adex Rodríguez Calderón assured that the capture of his brother was “a smokescreen” by García Sepulveda.

“It's not revenge, it's just applying the law, doing justice, but that doesn't distract us from the importance of health, water, security and that the government is working for its people,” he stressed. “Nuevo León demands justice and it is not right for lawyers to leave this first folder of many unharmed by lawyers that go against the former governor, his secretaries, his favorite suppliers, we want jail, but also, although there is hardly any such thing in Mexico, that what is stolen return: properties, luxury cars, bank accounts, their ranches”, he added
El Bronco has been held in prison number 2 in the municipality of Apodaca since Tuesday, March 15.
