This coming Sunday, March 27, will take place the 94th edition of the Osca r Awards, which promises to be unforgettable both for the audience tuning in to the ceremony and for those personalities who attend the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Although the first edition of the Academy Awards was held on May 16, 1929, at a private dinner held at the Hollywood Roosvelt Hotel in Los Angeles. To date, this annual event has gained such relevance that international personalities hope year after year to obtain one of the famous golden statuettes.
But of all the films presented over the years, the record about which film has won the most awards holds a mysterious secret.

Before revealing the name, we should remember some of the most memorable scenes from a film that managed to achieve the most statuettes so far. And it would be difficult for those who adept at cinema to forget the moment when a young woman with her arms outstretched is held by a man on the edge of an immense ship.
What will have already been discovered by this point, in fact, on 23 March 1998 Titanic, a film directed by James Cameron, achieved an all-time record by winning 11 Osca r and become one of the highest-grossing films in history.
But, although perhaps the above data is better known, something that little is said about is that Titanic did not “break” a record”, but “equalized” it. Since in the history of the Academy Awards, it was during 1969 when the film called Ben Hur managed to win 11 categories for the first time.

The film was released in 1959 and directed by William Wyler, the plot revolved around the protagonist Judah Ben-Hur, a young man from Jerusalem who is accidentally accused of trying to kill the new Roman governor and his friend, Mesala, who was a tribune who led the occupying armies, decides to imprison his acquaintance along with his respective family.
Among the categories that Ben Hur won are: best film, best director, best photography, best production design, best sound or best costume design.
As for Titanic, the film released in January 1998 featured renowned performances such as that of Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Buakater.

The plot dates from two young people from different social classes who meet on board the ocean liner Titanic during its maiden voyage in April 1912. What the protagonists do not know is the fateful fate that awaits them due to the sinking of the ship that would derive from the car against the iceberg.
Among the statuettes that this film by James Cameron won during the 70th edition of the Oscars were: best soundtrack, best film, best director, best photography, best sound, best visual effects, best production design.
Faced with this scenario, it remains to be asked whether any of the films that are nominated for this 94th edition will finally be able to surpass the unmissable films mentioned above.
