Congressman Alejandro Cavero after missed goal in Peru vs. Uruguay: “Neither Peru Libre steals us with such impudence”

Alejandro Cavero of the political party Avanza País, also spoke out in the face of the controversial play that has put our entire Peru on hold.

There is no doubt that Peru vs. Uruguay lit the fuse after the controversial play that was observed during this sporting match, where the referee Anderson Daronco, would not have scored the goal in our favor.

Faced with this, several figures in national politics have spoken out, one of them was Congressman Alejandro Cavero of the Avanza País political party. The parliamentarian was not shy about comparing this situation with the Peru-Libre party.

“Even Peru Libre does not steal from us with such impudence,” the parliamentarian wrote briefly and directly through his official Twitter account.

What is striking is that these indirects have been reflected in other political parties such as Guillermo Bermejo, who belongs to the bank of Democratic Peru. From his social networks he also compared this play with Keiko Fujimori's match, Fuerza Popular.

“That referee must be a Fujimorist. There is no other explanation for this robbery,” he wrote on the popular social network.

In the same context, the president of the legislative branch, María del Carmen Alva, also joined the criticism and called it “incredible that the VAR did not review the Peruvian goal.”

After that, Alva said that the national team does deserve to go to the world championship and we have to support until the end. “Let's go Peru! To get up so that on Tuesday we will be one heart”, he added.

RICARDO GARECA ON PERUVIAN DEFEAT

Changing the direction of information, the technical director of our football team, Ricardo Gareca, gave his opinion on this impasse and assured that it is time to think about Paraguay. As is known, the white and red is facing her similar this March 29, a key meeting to define our pass to the repechage heading to Qatar 2022.

“The Centennial is always a difficult scenario to play and one of the most important weapons of them is the stop ball. We were able to control it for much of the match, but in an oversight they scored the goal and then it was hard for us to resume to turn it around,” he said at a press conference.

Gareca applauded the work of the celestial team throughout the qualifying tournament. “We always intended to win the match and take risks, but we are faced with a team that has all the merits to be in the World Cup.”

“We tried to play within what they allowed us to. We had goal situations to get ahead on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, we couldn't do it, but I'm calm because they gave everything”, added the 'Tiger'.

Although this defeat plays against us and takes us away from the possibilities of going to the world championship, Ricardo Gareca prefers to be optimistic until the end.

We had expectations of qualifying directly, it will no longer be possible, but we have to recover. There is always the possibility of getting another opportunity such as the repechage. We have to leave this match behind as quickly as possible, the first 24 hours are difficult to digest, but then we have shown that we are a team that reacts in this kind of moment,” said the coach.

THIS IS HOW IT WAS IN THE LEADERBOARD

Peru came in 7th place in the table with 8 points in nine games. Two wins, two draws and five defeats. He has 17 goals against and only eight goals in favor, a result that would hurt us in qualifying for the next World Cup.

On the first date, he drew 2-2 against Paraguay on the road and was beaten by Brazil (4-2), in a controversial match where Chilean referee Julio Bascuñán was the main protagonist due to his mistakes that hurt the bicolor.

After the bitter drink, Peru faced Chile in Santiago amid a political crisis that affected the mood of the white and red squad falling 2-0 in the Monumental.
