THE HISTORIC TOP SCORER
Teofilo Cubillas is known as the highest all-time scorer of the Peruvian national team, even though Paolo Guerrero surpassed him in goals, but this is due to the recognition he received in the 70s. “El Nene” Cubillas has participated in three world championships wearing the shirt of the Peruvian national team. The world championships in which he was present were held at the World Cups in Mexico 1970, Argentina 1978 and Spain 1982.
The total of his goals in the three world championships was 10 in total and that places him in the ranking of top gunners in history in World Cups alongside Germans Helmut Rahn and Thomas Müller, Englishman Gary Lineker, Argentina's Gabriel Batistuta and Poland's Grzegorz Lato.

PREPARATION OF PERU
The Peruvian national team completed its fourth day of training at Videna under the orders of Ricardo Gareca and is expected to have the full squad on Sunday.
