The South Korean series Twenty-Five, Twenty-One has positioned itself among the most watched titles on Netflix since it released its first two episodes on the platform on March 19 . Two new episodes will be released every Friday until the end of their broadcast in April. The inspiring romance story stars Kim Tae-ri (The Maiden) and Nam Joo-hyuk (Start-Up).
In 1998, two young people seek to fulfill their dreams and share unforgettable experiences about friendship and love. Baek Yi-jin is the oldest of his brothers in a family that was economically affected by the IMF as a result of the financial crisis that hit the country; while, in the future, he will dedicate himself to working as a sports reporter after going through very difficult times in his life. On the other hand, there is Na Hee-do, a promising young woman from the high school fencing team who will continue to give her all for the sport even though everything seems to be going against her.
At the age of 22 and 18, the protagonists began to trust each other, but it wasn't until a year later that the pain they caused caused their estrangement. Later, they both put their trust in this friendship again to finally fall in love and make a life together at 25 and 21, respectively.
Kim Tae-ri and Nam Joo-hyuk lead the main cast of Bona, Choi Hyun-wook and Lee Joo-myung. Supporting stars include Seo Jae-hee, Kim Hye-eun, Choi Myung-bin, Park Yoon-hee, Kim Young-sun, Park Jun-pyo, Kim Nam-i, Choi Min-young, So Hee-jung, Heo Jin-na, Kim Dong-gyun, among others. The first season will consist of 16 episodes.
Twenty-five, twenty-one is the brainchild of screenwriter Kwon Do-eun, who had previously worked on Search: www with director Jung Ji-hyun. In the middle of last year, the cast members were confirmed and filming began in South Korea. It was only this year that official news of this production was heard with unreleased images, the previews, and the announcement of the release date on TV and for streaming.
How to watch the weekly episodes of Twenty-Five, Twenty-One?
The fiction began airing on February 12 on tvN, a South Korean television signal, and for Netflix only in Asia. A few weeks later, the production has finally reached the catalogue aimed at Latin America and will be able to enjoy weekly releases. The last two chapters will be screened on April 16.
