Several narcomantas found in the last six days, in the municipality of Mexicali, Baja California, in northern Mexico, have raised the authorities' fears about the advancement of the Los Omega criminal cell, linked to Ismael el Mayo Zambada.
Messages written on a white cloth indicate Baja California's Secretary of Public Security Gilberto Landeros Briseño to be the main generator of the Mexicali Valley. “Landeros Briseño, you are responsible for the violence. Valle de Mexicali, here is no way for Chapos and Salas, as in Sonora, violence continues until I want to and your pepas (state police) who continue to go overboard are going to be sent to you in pieces. Mexicali Valle 100% Omega”, reads on one of the blankets.
At a press conference, the head of the SSC acknowledged the discovery of narcomantes and assured that they are the result of the arrests of criminals.
