Taxi driver murdered in Ciudad Bolivar under strange circumstances

The criminals reportedly used a gun with a silencer, so the neighbors were not alerted or called the police in time.

In recent hours, the murder of a taxi driver was recorded in the Manuela Beltrán neighborhood, in the town of Ciudad Bolivar, in the south of Bogotá.

According to the first investigations carried out by the Sijín of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, the victim was a man of approximately 45 years of age who died after being hit by a firearm in the head.

What the authorities have been able to establish so far is that the unknown to commit the crime used a pistol with a silencer, so that the inhabitants of the sector would not have noticed or given notice to the police, thus being able to escape.

One of the first hypotheses that the authorities are trying to establish is whether the murder would be related to reckoning. They also revealed that they found in the public service vehicle the belongings of the victim, whose body was taken to the Legal Medicine headquarters for autopsy.

The vehicle in which the victim was travelling is affiliated with the company taxis free of license plates VDU 114 and was transferred to the courtyards of the Ministry of Mobility.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, 23 March, two men observed the presence of the police and tried to escape by running through a hard-to-reach wooded area. The police, at that time, activated the drones of the institution to find the whereabouts of these people.

The agents deployed the padlock plan and succeeded in the capture and, according to General Eliécer Camacho Jiménez, Bogotá Police Commander, “one of them tries to intimidate the policeman by taking a mini-Uzi firearm out of a bag, but it is quickly reduced. They are found abundant ammunition and the other citizen is found approximately one kilogram of a substance that by its structure resembles a bazooko, they are immediately caught and left at the disposal of the competent authorities”.

After the capture, the police checked the criminal records and called on the community to make the respective complaints and thus to ensure the indictment of charges and the respective imprisonment.

During a party in the 12 de octubre neighborhood of the town of Barrios Unidos, late at night on Tuesday, March 22 - almost early Wednesday - the noise of the celebration was affecting the other residents of the place, which led to one of the residents of the neighborhood taking the spokesperson for the community and going to the house in the that the feast was held to ask for consideration with the other houses.

At the party there were already several drunk men and when the indignant neighbor arrived at the place, he expressed his discomfort and those of other inhabitants, asking that the music be turned down to allow those who were not at the party to rest.

But his words caused the annoyance of the drunks who pounced on the man and gave him a brutal beating. The most serious thing about the case, and that investigations are open in the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, is that, apparently, some of the drunks who beat the neighbor were uniformed men who were on their day off.

The beating that was inflicted on the man led to his being transferred to San José Hospital, where he was evaluated and his injuries were treated. For their part, the capital's authorities confirmed that they captured two of the aggressors and that they are still trying to clarify whether there are uniformed personnel involved in the case.
