From this Friday, March 25, the maturity schedule will begin to file the Annual Income Tax Return 2021, according to the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat).
This tax return must be filed in total by more than one million 200 thousand taxpayers. These are made up of individuals and companies that generated income in the previous year.

- 7: the last date to declare is April 5, 2021
- 8: the last date to declare is April 6, 2021

However, for good taxpayers and those who are not required to register in the RUC, the last filing date will be April 8, 2021.
STEP BY STEP TO APPLY FOR INCOME TAX
Individuals who during 2021 had an excess in the payment of Income Tax (due to monthly withholdings, direct payments or deductible expenses) can quickly and easily request a refund of that amount online.
They must first submit their 2021 Annual Income Tax Return, using form 709, available on the Personas App or Virtual Sunat, where they will find detailed information on their income, withholdings and deductible expenses to facilitate their return.
If you have a balance in favor, at that moment, the system will ask you if you wish to request the refund and the method of crediting, the fastest and most convenient being direct credit to the bank account.
If the employee has not previously registered the Interbank Account Code (CCI), or wishes to update it, he or she may do so at that time, in the Personas or Sunat Virtual App.
The bank account must be in national currency. Once the return request has been submitted, you will receive the corresponding proof in the electronic mailbox. Although the statutory period for return is up to 45 working days after its submission, Sunat has significantly reduced the deadlines for handling these requests.
WORKERS ON PAYROLL
In the case of payroll workers (dependents) who incurred deductible expenses during 2021, generating a balance in favor, the refund will be made automatically, without having to file the Annual Income Tax Return, by deposit in their bank account, provided that their Code of Interbank Account (CCI) with Sunat.
