Peru vs. Uruguay: Peruvian win could increase t-shirt sales in Gamarra by 20%

The president of the Gamarra Peru Business Association, Susana Saldaña, hopes that the national team will win in Montevideo so that the economy will revive.

If Peru beats Uruguay tonight, Gamarra's commercial emporium would increase sales of “white-red” t-shirts by 20%. This was announced by the president of the Gamarra Peru Business Association, Susana Saldaña, who is waiting for a Peruvian victory to make the economy move.

In a dialogue with Exitosa, Saldaña specified that, when the Peruvian national team is victorious in their international duels, the micro and small companies of the textile industry win indirectly.

“When it comes to sales, they are important. Entrepreneurs in the sports sector, those who manufacture and are specialists in this type of products (t-shirts), are looking forward to the triumphs of the Peruvian National Team, not only because we are fans, but because it helps economic revival,” he said.

“A very decisive match is coming and demand is starting to grow. If Peru beats Uruguay, demand is likely to skyrocket by at least 20% more,” he added.

This forecast is given after seeing how sales of the national team jersey skyrocketed after the 'Bicolor' achieved a historic victory against Colombia and in Barranquilla.

“People are still buying more, especially from the province. Orders are already arriving this week, the weekend that we just spent has been an interesting one, there has been an advance in the sales of the products”, he explained.

As for the best-selling shirts, Saldaña revealed that the numbers that buy the most are those of Paolo Guerrero, regardless of whether he plays or not, and Gianluca Lapadula. “Between Guerrero and Lapadula, they are now the same, they are the ones that sell the most. But Guerrero plays or does not play, he is a character who has managed to stay in the hearts of the Peruvians”, he said.

BANDERAZO IN GAMARRA

To get into the mood, Gamarra merchants held a flag this morning to encourage the Peruvian National Team in the distance, which a few hours later faces Uruguay and could define its direct qualification to its second consecutive World Cup.

“This is something we do every time Peru goes to play because we are the biggest bar in the world. We are always going to face our country and our boys are going to give us this nice joy of going to Qatar,” said a merchant.

Characters such as the imitator of Ricardo Gareca and Gianluca Lapadula arrived to the place of the celebration, including people dressed as Power Rangers and the erotic huaco. All of them were accompanied by several fans who wore the shirt of everyone's team.

The banner in this place is specifically due to the fact that there are stores that sell various clothes to celebrate the matches. For this reason, the merchants agree to make this display of spirits in every match in Peru.

On the other hand, the RPP Noticias news also showed that on the streets there are many citizens who have come to work wearing their national team shirt.
