Just days after the ceremony, Colombian artists have put their name on the list of personalities that stand out from the talents that will be honored at the evening. In addition to the live performances of Sebastián Yatra, Carolina Gaitan and Mauro Castillo, fashion designer Raúl Peñaranda will be present.

Through his Twitter account, El Caleño, who has lived in New York for more than 20 years, said that he is in charge of dressing the digital director of the prestigious fashion magazine Vanity Fair, Alyssa Karas, who has been in that position for six years. In the video the designer is seen dressing the woman in a black and white piece. According to what is read on his website, the Colombian has realized his dream of designing luxury clothing for women, with his pieces, he says, he seeks to celebrate “the intrinsic beauty of the human spirit”.

“It makes Colombia, my country, present in these prestigious film awards. She is a woman of exquisite taste who knows what is good and what is not. A connoisseur of trends, what is imposed. The fact that he chose me as his fashion designer fills me with pride and this means that things are being done well,” he commented in an interview with Noticias Caracol.

Raul, read on his website, managed to stand out in Forbes magazine when Forbes declared him one of the fastest growing fashion entrepreneurs to leave the small business industry with his 100% US-made clothing. Although she was born in Cali, Colombia, she grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and later moved to Miami, Florida, in the United States. He has been creative director of Merchandise and Trend Services, chief designer and textile/CAD designer.

For this year's Fashion Week, the designer wore a collection that, according to connoisseurs, had the fabrics and silhouettes of Coco Chanel and the elegance of Audrey Hepburn.

In his talk with Noticias Caracol, Peñaranda commented that he loves being Colombian and that, like Sebastián Yatra and Carolina Gaitan, he represents his country through art. As a fashion designer, I want to tell the new talents in sewing that they don't have to go out to other countries to get lost, but that they should go out and find a platform, finding what they have inside, their roots, to give them prominence (...) I love to put a grain of sand in the world by talking well about our country through our talent”, he said.

Sebastián Yatra will be singing 'Dos Oruguitas', a song nominated in the category of 'Best Original Song' at the Oscars. At the same time, Carolina Gaitan and Mauro Castillo will perform 'There is no talk of Bruno', a song that, although not nominated, has been very popular since the release of 'Encanto', the first Disney animated film inspired by Colombia.
