In the early morning of March 24, a taxi driver was killed when he went to attend a service in the Juan Pablo II neighborhood, in the town of Ciudad Bolivar, despite the warnings of his colleagues not to enter the place to pick up the alleged passenger.
Jhon Fredy Quiceno López was driving the taxi in the early hours of Thursday when he received a request through the Free Taxis app. The destination, El Dorado Airport, a race with surcharge. He accepted the service and started his way to Ciudad Bolivar in the south of Bogotá.
Through the Quinceno application he received a message from his client asking him to enter a street near a parking lot and told his colleagues, through the radio, that he did not know whether to enter or not to pick up the passenger or leave the race and have to explain to the company.
“I don't know what to do, there is a man who says to come in, that the mother, who enters the parking lot below Juan Pablo, I don't know what to do,” Quiceno told his colleague, according to the audios revealed by Blu Radio on Thursday morning
“What is the man telling you? That he gets in the parking lot upstairs? What in the background? That's a berth. I was dumped the other day for the airport. No, no, don't be a pussy! Don't go in. That open from there, that luck. If they call you from the center, tell him, that is not a pot there, a dead end, what am I going to get into. Get out of there! Oh! You are gross, what do you get in, man! Stop being so hungry, fag, one is better, for ten thousand pesos... don't screw up, brother,” the other taxi driver replied to Quiceno.
“Fag, yes. It's severe. Oh! I already got in.”
This was the last thing Jhon Fredy Quiceno said to his partner after failing to heed his warning.
According to witness testimonies collected by the station, Quiceno did not find the alleged woman who was waiting for him with his son, but two criminals who tried to steal it but who, faced with the resistance of the taxi driver, killed him with a shot in the head.
On Wednesday, March 23, the murder of a taxi driver was recorded in the Manuela Beltrán neighborhood, in the town of Ciudad Bolivar, in the south of Bogotá.
According to the first investigations carried out by the Sijín of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, the victim was a 49-year-old man who died after being hit by a firearm in the head.
What the authorities have been able to establish so far is that the unknown to commit the crime used a pistol with a silencer, so that the inhabitants of the sector would not have noticed or given notice to the police, thus being able to escape.
One of the first hypotheses that the authorities are trying to establish is whether the murder would be related to reckoning. They also revealed that they found in the public service vehicle the belongings of the victim, whose body was taken to the Legal Medicine headquarters for autopsy.
The vehicle in which the victim was travelling is affiliated with the company taxis free of license plates VDU 114 and was transferred to the courtyards of the Ministry of Mobility.
