Call opens to deliver cultural stimuli in the country

All artists, creators, researchers, entrepreneurs and cultural managers will have an opportunity in 2022 to promote their artistic projects. From March 23 to May 2, the call for the 2022 Stimulus Program will be open, with which the Government seeks to support initiatives related to various fields of arts, culture and heritage, through the provision of economic incentives.

It was indicated that the stimulus portfolio has four thematic lines: creation, training, circulation and research. This will allow interested parties to receive support in any of the three modalities: scholarships, recognitions and/or awards.

As for scholarships, this is an instrument to support the implementation of artistic and cultural projects. The awards are related to highlighting processes, projects, works and trajectories of individuals and organizations, which make an outstanding contribution to the country's cultural life and distinguish themselves as references in the field in which they are developed. As for the awards, these are “the highest distinction for the work, work, trajectory, dedication, processes and contributions” carried out by artists, creators, researchers and managers, whose work in the cultural field contributes in an outstanding way to the memory and cultural life of the country.

Only Colombians over 18 years of age, resident or not in the country and foreigners who prove residence for the last five (5) continuous years in Colombia, may participate in the call. Likewise, constituted groups, legal entities of a private nature, councils, indigenous reservations and associations, legal persons of a public nature, community councils of black, Afro-Colombian, Palenqueras, Raizales and the Rrom people.

News from the National Stimulus Program 2022

In response to the recommendations of the sector, the Ministry of Culture implemented important changes, among which the following stand out:

New prizes: unlike the previous year's version, two categories are opened in the most important prize “Life and Work”: for arts and culture and bearers of cultural heritage and memory, and the national prize for traditional kitchens returns.

Improvements to the application process: those interested in participating should only submit minimum documents that vary according to the type of person applying, but which in general can be: registration form, identity document or the constituted group formation format or the document of existence and legal representation , RUT, the endorsement of the implementation of the proposal in specific population contexts and in some cases the organization's banking certification.

Bank of Juries: as a transparency exercise, a selected group of expert juries will be available for the evaluation process.

It was indicated that the Ministry will have virtual pedagogical tools and tutorials to guide the application process, will set up public socialization days to guide users in relation to the terms of the call, and will have all the information available in www.mincultura.gov.co
