The Ministry of Security, Coexistence and Justice announced the implementation of the new technological platform Vesta NG911, which will operate at the Command, Control, Communications and Computing Center (C4), a point from which emergencies and security are coordinated in Bogotá, and which seeks to respond quickly to reported emergencies.

According to the entity, with the delivery of information in real time, it will be possible to make quick and accurate decisions in each case reported, as the new technological tool Vesta NG911 reduces the times and steps to carry out a successful voice transfer between the agencies that make up the C4.

Line 123 operated on a plant that was 15 years old and needed to be modernized,” said Ada Luz Sandoval, director of C4.

He added that “what this new technology allows is to have greater agility in the responses of calls, especially in the transfer of these calls from Line 123 to the agency that responds to the citizen's incident.”

Sandoval pointed out that this new technology complies with international certification standards that ensure the quality of an emergency system worldwide; in addition, in its operational strengthening, the new tool allows voice recordings that will be activated for non-originating calls, that is, the jokes that are carried out to Line 123. The technology has high level security standards, in the processing of data inside the system.

It is noteworthy that pranksters could pay a fine of 32 SMDLV, as determined by the Police and Coexistence Code as a type 4 fine, which includes participation in pedagogical activity, until the cancellation of the person responsible's landline or mobile phone line, which means that if a child makes 'joke calls' from the landline or their parents' cell phone, they must respond with the measure imposed.

The Command, Control, Communications and Computing Center (C4) is the brain and heart of Bogotá's security and emergency care. The emergency line offers the services to citizens to deal with incidents of coexistence, citizen security, environmental and health that occur, and for this, human personnel are articulated, technological and operational tools to provide a coordinated, efficient and timely response as required by the reported emergency.

With the information collected there, it is the input for decision-making and the prevention and anticipation of this type of event. Likewise, the systems that make up the C4:

The 123 Emergency Hotline

· The Video Surveillance System

· The telecommunications network that supports communications of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá.

Line 123 protects lives and allows emergencies to be addressed. It's not for making jokes! 70% of the 21,000 calls received every day are inadequate. According to the Code of Coexistence, misuse of the Line results in a type 4 fine. #JuntosCuidamosBogotá,” said the Secretary of Security on Twitter.

“Thanks to this new tool, it is possible to monitor the status of the C4 operation, which facilitates the evaluation and decision-making for the care of emergencies that are reported by citizens. Our priority is life”, emphasized the entity.
