In a preview of season 12 of Vecinos, the name of Benito, the character played by Octavio Ocaña, was mentioned. After the death of the beloved actor, many people began to wonder what would happen in the comic series with the son of Frankie Rivers - played by César Bono -.

The 22-year-old died on October 29, 2021, a couple of months before the recordings of seasons 12 and 13 of this comic series began, so it will be the first edition of Vecinos without him being present. However, it is known that the young man will have a presence throughout the series through text messages on the grounds that he embarked on a great journey.

Season 12 of Vecinos will arrive on television next Sunday, March 27 through the Las Estrellas channel and will occupy the time of 19:30 hours, it will be part of the Televisa bar known as Sundays on the couch.

According to the advances released by the official networks of the series, while the inhabitants of the neighborhood are getting vaccinations, they are heard saying that “Benito stayed”, although it was not specified where his character will be and this detail will be revealed along with the premiere.

At the mention, many fans of the program were nostalgic for what Octavio Ocaña's absence will mean even though his character continues to be relevant in the series, “It's going to give me a lot of feeling about Benito” and “I hope they give life to Benito” were two of the comments that could be read.

It should be remembered that one of the most important events of Benito Rivers in fiction was that at the end of season 11, he began to live with his girlfriend within the series. The actress who plays Liz is named Talitha Becker. This happened a short time before Ocaña asked Nerea Godinez to marry him.

Although only the 12th edition episodes will be released on March 27, filming for season 13 is also over and will likely begin broadcasting in the second half of the year. On the other hand, on February 7, Ocaña's family toured the facilities of the forum where Vecinos is filmed .
