Incredibly and unimaginably, North Macedonia got 1-0 up over Italy in the final minutes in the semifinal of the European Qualifiers repechage heading to Qatar 2022, leaving 'Azzurra' without a world cup. The team led by Roberto Mancini looked for her throughout the match and had some clear options, but Aleksandar Trajkovski ended his hopes of attending the world's greatest party.

The action came 92 minutes into the match. Goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski pulled long from his goal and a pivot left the ball in favor of the striker, who had not had any clear choice in the match. He controlled it with his chest and advanced a little with the ball to settle in, while Jorginho claimed a hand and gave him space to hit him.

The Saudi Professional League Al-Fayah footballer did not hesitate at any time and hit him hard on the right with the instep. The ball was rebounding and ended up sticking to the right post of Gianluigi Donnarumma who, despite the stretch, could not reach the ball to save his team and in the first required ball that came to him.

PREVIA ITALIA VS MACEDONIA

Italy and Macedonia face each other in the semi-final of the European Qualifiers repechage heading to Qatar 2022. Both teams are looking for the triumph that will lead them to the final of route C, where they will be able to meet Portugal or Turkey, who simultaneously define their passage to the final.

The match will be played at the Renzo Barbera stadium, located in the city of Palermo and inaugurated on January 24, 1932. There will start the commitment that defines the move to the next instance for either of the two selections. Because of the quality of players and because they are the recent champions of the European Championship, the 'Azzurra' must be victorious in the role.

Italy comes to this stage after taking second place in the Group C standings with 16 points after eight games played, where the leader Switzerland scored 18 points and qualified directly to Qatar 2022. In his last match at the national team level, he drew 0-0 against Northern Ireland on November 18, 2021.

On the other hand, North Macedonia won 3-1 in their last group J match of the European Qualifiers and took second place with 18 points, leaving Romania behind and entering the playoff. The leader of that group was Germany with 27 units. Armenia, Iceland and Liechtenstein were also eliminated.

In total, there were two teams competing for three places for the World Cup, but after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, FIFA decided to leave President Vladimir Putin's country out of competition. For this reason Poland moves directly to the next stage, while the match between Ukraine and Scotland is suspended.

Serbia, Spain, France, Belgium, Denmark, Croatia, Germany, England and Switzerland are the countries of Europe that are already directly qualified for the top football festival to be held in November this year.
