In recent days, countries around the world began to lift restrictions on international travel. As reported by this media outlet, 10 nations have chosen this path, deciding to stop demanding vaccination and/or Covid-19 screening tests from travelers, among them are the United Kingdom, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, Iceland, Hungary, Romania, Mongolia, Yemen and Gabon.

However, despite the fact that severe cases of coronavirus continue to decline, the vast majority of countries around the world continue to request vaccines as one of the essential entry requirements to enter their territories. Such are the cases of most European countries, the United States, regional destinations and the world.

As is well known, more than 6 million Argentines have received the Sputnik-V vaccine, of Russian origin, which is not recognized by some countries. For this reason, days ago the Ministry of Health announced that Argentines who have received this vaccine and need to travel abroad have the right to receive a fourth dose of an immunizer endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO). In order to be able to access it, they must justify with the plane ticket and state the reason for the trip, whether for recreational, family, humanitarian, work, study, religious or other reasons.

In this context, Infobae reviewed the conditions of entry for the main destinations in the world depending on the type of vaccine obtained:

United States

In order to enter the United States, Argentines need to be vaccinated with an inoculant recognized by the WHO or the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), namely: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Bharat. The country does not support other vaccines such as Sputnik-V.

Therefore, Argentines who have received two doses of Sputnik-V and wish to enter the United States should request the application of a fourth WHO-approved booster dose, provided they have a third dose of an equally recognized inoculant.

In other words, to enter the United States, it will not matter that you have one or two Sputnik-V vaccines, but what will count will be having two applications of a recognized inoculant.

Brazil

One of the most famous regional destinations among Argentines allows travelers to enter as long as they can prove that they have the complete vaccination schedule of a vaccine that has been recognized in the country that issued the vaccination certificate, by the National Health Surveillance Agency or by the World Health Organization. In other words, all those immunized in Argentina will meet this requirement.

Spain

To travel to one of the most famous destinations in Europe for Argentines, it is necessary to be vaccinated with a vaccine recognized by the WHO and the European Medicines Agency (EMA), namely: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Novavax, Sinopharm, Sinovac and Covaxin.

However, Argentines will be able to enter Spain if they have two doses of Sputnik-V and a third of any of the aforementioned vaccines. In other words, the fourth dose would not be strictly necessary to travel to the Iberian country.

Germany

For its part, Germany requires a Covid-19 vaccination certificate stating that the traveler is vaccinated with an immunizer approved by the Paul Ehrlich Institute, including Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna.

The German authorities have said nothing about the Russian vaccine, therefore, those who have this immunizer and wish to travel to Germany avoiding quarantine, will have to demand the fourth dose enabled by the national Ministry of Health.

France

The last thing France did with regard to Argentina was to put it back on its list of “green countries”, which means that it accepts the entry of Argentinians vaccinated with Sputnik-V as long as they present a negative PCR test done within 72 hours before the flight, an antigen test with a negative result carried out within 48 hours prior to boarding or you can also present a positive test for Covid-19 and a medical discharge certifying that the traveler has already passed the disease between 11 and 180 days old.

They consider fully vaccinated as long as you have the two doses of AstraZeneca, Covishield, Moderna, Pfizer, Fiocruz, R-Covi or Nuvaxovid; or you have the single dose of Johnson & Johnson; or you have the two doses of Sinopharm, Sinovac or Covaxin plus a booster dose of Pfizer or Moderna.

In other words, requesting the fourth dose to enter France is not strictly necessary, but it would serve to become considered as a vaccinated traveler and avoid testing for Covid-19.

Italy

For its part, the Italian Government ordered that since March Argentines may enter the country in tanco and comply with any of these requirements:

a) Complete vaccination with an EMA-approved inoculant (Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Novavax, Moderna and AstraZeneca), which have been applied up to 9 months before the date of admission.

b) Complete vaccination with EMA-approved inoculant plus a booster dose.

c) Discharge of Covid-19, less than 6 months old.

d) Negative result of PCR test carried out by swabbing within 72 hours prior to admission to Italy or negative antigen test performed within 48 hours prior to entry into the country.

Similar to the French situation, those who have been vaccinated with Sputnik-V and want to avoid testing for SARS CoV-2 should apply the fourth dose.

Portugal

To enter the country, it will also be necessary to present a WHO-approved vaccination schedule, so Argentines vaccinated with Sputnik-V should use the fourth dose to be able to enter without problems.

Greece

The Mediterranean country appears as the first on this list to accept the Sputnik-V vaccine, as well as the others that were applied and applied in Argentina. In addition, they demand a negative PCR test done within 72 hours prior to the trip.

Australia

Another country that recognized Sputnik-V vaccines is Australia, so Argentines should only present a screening test of coronavirus previously done - 72 hours prior to PCR or 24 hours prior to antigen testing - and its complete vaccination schedule to travel to the country.

Chile

Like Australia and Greece, it also accepts the entry of travelers vaccinated with the Russian inoculant, and request that the certificate of such vaccination be validated on an official site in Chile. In addition, you must present a PCR test to detect Covid-19 and you must have unfailingly taken out medical insurance with coverage of a minimum of 30,000 dollars that covers expenses related to the disease.

Uruguay

The rioplatense neighbor also accepts Argentines vaccinated with Sputnik-V and the other inoculants, and additionally demands that some previously done Covid-19 screening test be presented and that health coverage that includes expenses related to the pandemic disease be provided.
