The start of the Qatar World Cup, which, unlike previous editions, will be held between November 21 and December 18, 2022. This is because, in the middle of the year, temperatures in this Middle Eastern country tend to average a daily average of 37 degrees Celsius.

There are 17 places left to complete the list of 32 teams that will say 'present' at the next World Cup. In the case of South America, the qualifiers will be defined in the coming days, with the last two days of the qualifying rounds having been completed. Colombia, for example, is one of the teams that does the accounts to achieve this goal.

With this scenario, FIFA, the governing body of football in the world, officially opened the call for people wishing to volunteer for the World Cup. In total there will be 20,000 assistants who will be at the orbital event, working in 45 functional areas in stadiums, training camps, fan areas, hotels, public transport and airports, among others.

According to the agency, those interested must be over 18 years of age or have them completed by the court of October 1 of this year, because on that date they will start “some volunteer positions”. There are no age limits, but it is essential that the applicant knows how to speak English. The Arabic language is not necessary, although it will be valued in the process. And finally, experience is not required either.

“Behind every inning, every fan, every beep and every match is another team. Behind the scenes, they're doing everything. Planning, guide, transport, reception. It's the nerves before the game, the roar of the game, the breath after the match. They are the heartbeat, of the greatest football show on Earth. And this is your chance to join them,” FIFA wrote in the middle of the announcement.

The Volunteer Program envisages individuals who are trustworthy, have the ability to solve problems and can learn quickly. Communication, leadership and teamwork skills are also helpful: “From accreditation to media, from uniform to spectator services, there is a place for everyone. You should be able to speak English, but we'll give you the rest of the training you need,” added the sports organization.

To submit the application it is necessary to access the following link https://fwc2022.launch.volunteer.fifa.com/. There you are going to go to the 'register' box and then be sent to another tab. In this part you will find a form that you must fill out with your personal data.

Shortlisted applicants will be subjected to an evaluation and interview. Finally, those chosen will receive training to fulfill their duties and will be given a limited edition Adidas uniform. Meals and free access to public transport are also included, but air tickets and accommodation are at the expense of the volunteer.

The Colombia national team plays its last home match in the South American Qualifiers heading to Qatar 2022. This will be before his Bolivian counterpart, next Thursday, March 24 at 6:30 in the afternoon at the Metropolitano Stadium in Barranquilla. This Tuesday, coach Reinaldo Rueda had his first training session with the full group of players.
