“This ribbon cutting and the official start of this international route shows that our commitment to Cali is strong. We know that this destination has been excellently received by Colombian and Mexican travelers, and that it will favor the tourism, business and economic development of both countries. Today we connect these two cities, which in turn will allow travelers to visit many more destinations in our network of connections in Colombia, Central America and South America,” added Felix Antelo, President & CEO of Grupo Viva.

The airline also recently inaugurated its new Medellin-Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) route, which will have four flights a week, as well as connections from Bogotá, Cali, Cartagena and Lima (Peru). The new route foresees that in the first year more than 50,000 passengers will be transported between the two cities using their new air service.

We are very motivated by the inauguration of a route that promotes tourism and economic development throughout the region, such as Punta Cana. Added to this inaugural flight is the start of operations of our 14 domestic routes, which also begin operations this month and demonstrate Viva's local and international reach, as well as its purpose to ensure air inclusion and connectivity in the country and the continent.
