A student of the Vocational 7 of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) was raped by at least five of her classmates and an adult, who would have drunk and drugged her prior to the attack; they are already being investigated by the capital's prosecutor's office.
According to reports published on social networks, the minor was drunk by her aggressors and later abused, the injuries caused to her body merited her being admitted to a hospital in Iztapalapa, where she was attacked.
The 15-year-old teenager was found in a bathroom of the Vocacional by her companions, who alerted the appropriate authorities about her condition, and was therefore taken to a hospital of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), where it was determined that she had been intoxicated and subsequently abused sexually.
According to the first reports, those suspected of the attack, including five IPN students, are already being sought by staff of the Attorney General of Justice of Mexico City (FGJ), a agency that will be responsible for clarifying the events that occurred in La Vocacional.
The minor would have ingested a Four Loko drink, which would contain narcotics that affected her mental state and facilitated the abuse of the four men; it is presumed that the assailants were friends of the young woman.
During 2021, 21,189 simple and comparable violations were recorded, 28.1% higher than 2020 when 16,544 were reported, according to data provided by the Ministry of Citizen Security (SSC) at the morning conference on January 20.
In an exercise of rounded accounts, these numbers mean that 58 violations were committed every day of 2021, and a month 1,765. In addition, if the cumulative figure were divided among the 32 states of the Republic, it would mean that in each of them 600 rapes were committed per year, about two per day.
Thus, by April 2021 Mexico reached its all-time high in violations with 2,017 cases; although the gap of 2,000 records was also overcome by October with 2,013.
Meanwhile, the figures for the remaining months ranged from a low of 1,700 (November 2021) to 1,963 (June 2021), based on the November safety report of the same year.
It should be noted that illicit law was also positioned as the one with the highest increase in the incidence of common jurisdiction in 2021; the second largest was theft in public and individual transport with 12.6%, that is, a gap of 15 percentage points difference.
Crimes against women in Mexico have increased with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is estimated that in the world, 243 million women and girls between the ages of 15 and 49 have experienced sexual or physical violence by a romantic partner, during the past twelve months, the UN warned.
In addition, it is recognized that the spread of the pandemic has led to an increase in attacks against women, especially domestic violence, damaging their physical and psychological well-being; it is also warned that these damages will have a negative effect on the recovery of societies and economies.
The true face of the epidemic of violence against women could be difficult to count, since it is considered that since the health crisis only 40% of women who experienced violence sought help, especially from family members and friends; however, only about 10% of women who sought help did so through a complaint to some authority or the police.
