New seasons of the world created from the fiction Arrow were announced, from which the so-called Arrowverse emerged. On the one hand Superman and Loisb managed to renew their contracts for a third season, after gaining a great reputation among the fans of the superhero. On the other hand, The Flash became the longest fiction of the DC series for The CW network.
Clark Kent aka Superman is played by Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) while Lois Lane, the most famous comic book journalist, is played by Elizabeth Tulloch (Grimm). The cast will once again feature Erik Valdez (Graceland), Jordan Elsas (Little Fires Everywhere), Alex Garfin, Inde Navarette (13 Reasons Why), Wole Parks (All American) and Adam Rayner (Mistresses) with Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck) and Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage).
The series was developed by Greg Belanti, also creator of Arrow, Batwoman, Supergirli/i and The Flash series that is setting precedent as the longest in the DC universe. The news that broke states that Barry Allen (Gustin Grant, who currently premiered on Netflix Ruby's Rescue) will be seen in a ninth season. Thus The Flash surpasses Arrow in longevity, which aired for 8 seasons and starred Stephen Amell. In fact, Barry's character was first introduced to Arrow.
Although it achieved the renewal after having had one of the weakest seasons in terms of audience numbers, it was also affected by the end of two other series that formed a band like Arrow and Supergirl. It is estimated (not yet confirmed) that this will be the final season and that it will be shorter than the previous ones.
“As we prepare for the 2022-23 season, these fictions, along with the series we previously renewed, will serve as the start of a solid foundation formed by some of our most watched series for us to build next year and beyond,” Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, commented in a statement. “These dramas are also important to our overall digital strategy, as they are part of our most watched streaming and socially engaged programming, and we hope to add more series both renewed and new to help strengthen and expand our cross-platform footprint,” he concluded.
In addition to this list of renewals, Walkerb who achieves a third installment, All American (one of the most watched fictions in the CW universe) that will begin its fifth season, Kung Fub the remake of the legendary series that will go for its third season, while Nancy bDrew will air its fourth season and Riverdale enters the seventh which is also rumored to be the last installment.
