Real Madrid begins its renewal: the eight figures who will not continue in the club

Faced with the imminent arrival of Kylian Mbappé and while negotiating for Erling Haaland, the Spanish club has drawn up an internal blacklist

Real Madrid is the leader of La Liga and is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, however their leadership is already thinking about next season. In this sense, the formation of the workforce is a fundamental issue and while working on reinforcements, the exits have also begun to be treated, which according to the Spanish portals would be at least eight.

The reasons why these players have the doors open to leave are different, according to the website AS. Marcelo's, for example, is due to what is interpreted as an end of cycle for the 33-year-old Brazilian winger who joined the team in 2007 and has won 23 trophies, although in the last two seasons he has barely added minutes of play. The contract between both parties expires in June and since there is no intention of renewing it, the player must continue his career in another club.

So does the Spaniard Isco. The 29-year-old winger has alternated between good and bad in his nine years at the club, but since the departure of Zinedine Zidane he has lowered his level to a point that the leadership understands that he is no longer up to what the club wants. His contract that ends at the end of the season and he will leave as a free agent.

The other one who will leave with the pass in his possession is Gareth Bale. There has been so much talk about Welsh in recent times because of his situation at Real Madrid that there is now anxiety about how his career will continue. The striker arrived at Santiago Bernabeu in 2013 in exchange for 120 million euros, having been chosen as the best footballer in the Premier League for his performances at Tottenham. His performance in the white jersey went from highest to lowest: he was a hero in the 2018 Champions League final against Liverpool for his two goals, one of them from Chile, but since 2019 he has played just 25 games, less than half as a starter, and refused to be sold several times despite having had offers. He was even on loan for a while at Tottenham. The end of his time as a galactic has come.

These three outings will free up a salary mass close to 60 million euros, which allows the institution of Florentino Pérez to make room for the contracts of his next signings. It is worth remembering that Kylian Mbappé's arrival as a free agent from PSG is almost a fact that will be confirmed once the current season ends. In addition, negotiations to close Norwegian Erling Haaland, the other great promise of world football, have begun months ago.

Real Madrid will also seek to break away from three signings that did not turn out as expected. Eden Hazard was the great figure of Chelsea, nominated for the Golden Ball, star of the Belgian national team and called to be the replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo by choosing the number 7 number. However, little and nothing was seen from the striker wearing the white shirt, despite the fact that the club invested 160 million for him in 2020, 40 of them still have to pay.

The big problem that emerges here is that Hazard, 31, has a current contract, so some club should make an offer that, according to AS, reaches 40 million euros, something that seems impossible in the next summer market.

Two others who are in the same situation as the Belgian are Serbian Luka Jovic and Dominican Mariano. Both have the “for sale” sign placed over their heads. The 24-year-old European centre-forward cost 60 million euros in 2019, a figure whose half has not yet been paid and it is hard to believe that any club will make a similar offer for an offensive footballer who scored just three goals with the Spanish club in 49 appearances.

Mariano's case is similar, with the addition that the 28-year-old striker has repeatedly refused to leave for another team whose salary offer is lower than what he receives at Real Madrid. Therefore, both exits will not be easy.

Finally, it is two young people who make up the “black list”. Defender Jesús Vallejo and midfielder Dani Ceballos, both 25 years old. Neither of them is taken into account by Carlo Ancelotti, but the club knows that offers for them will not be missing, since they are young talented people who, in another team, may have more opportunities.

In this way, Real Madrid begins its renewal for the 2022/23 season, with several departures, but also with some signings that promise to break the market, such as those of Mbappé and Haaland, should they materialize.
