Peru vs Uruguay LIVE: minute by minute and preview from Montevideo

The Peruvian national team completed their first training session in Montevideo. Ricardo Gareca surprised when he tried a new eleven that could be the final one to face the 'charrúa claw' tomorrow at the Montevideo Centennial. Here all the details and the minute by minute of all the actions of the bicolor prior to the momentous match.

Guardar

It's less than 20 hours before Peru jumps onto the Montevideo Centennial court and faces Uruguay in the match that could define the direct classification of the bicolor to the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Ricardo Gareca's team arrived yesterday Tuesday on Charrúa soil and was received by dozens of fans who encouraged them with a loud voice and made a flag to the rhythm of the song 'El Cervecero'.

Peru is concentrated in the Hilton Garden Inn hotel, located just minutes from downtown Montevideo, and has all the amenities that Ricardo Gareca's team needs during their stay.

Yesterday, upon their arrival at the hotel, the technical team and organizer of the Peruvian national team had reserved part of the dining room for the selected ones to have a quiet dinner and rest early.

Peru will play Uruguay “as if it were a final”, as both need the victory that leaves them with a foot and a half inside the World Cup in Qatar.

La Celeste has to its credit a history with wide favoritism against Peru in the Centennial. Of the 25 games she played at home against the Inca since 1930, she won 16, drew seven and was barely defeated twice (by qualifiers in 1981 and 2004), according to statistics from the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).

“We have already made history in other countries where we had not won, we did it and hopefully this time is not the exception,” said Miguel Araújo, before stating that both this match and the next match against Paraguay will be “finals”.

Israeli fan almost finished at the police station

The popular Israeli fan of La Blanquirroja did not know how to get to his hotel in the middle of the morning in Montevideo and almost ended up at the police station, but he was saved by the press. He said he was happy with the arrival of the national team, after celebrating his cell phone turned off and there was the address of the hotel. He started walking and was supported by a group of journalists who paid him a taxi that took him to another area further away from his lodging.

“I wanted to get off and the taxi driver told me he couldn't leave me there. 'I'm taking you to the police station, 'he told me. I was upset because I didn't want to charge my cell phone and he returned me to Rubina (journalist for América Tv),” said the Israeli fan.

Hincha ‘cogoteado’

Before leaving for his first training session in Montevideo, a Peruvian fan tried to get close to the Peruvian national team to get an autograph from Christian Cueva, but it was violently held by security personnel.

Cueva was leaving the hotel to get on the bus when the fan flouted the first security barrier and when he was about to achieve his goal, he was taken by a guy by the neck and kicked him out of the place.

Peruanos en capilla:

For this match against Uruguay, there are several players from the Peruvian national team who are in capilla. Pedro Gallese is one of them and is one yellow from being left out of the match against Uruguay. Zambrano and Callens could also have the same fate if the referee takes the yellow one out of them this Thursday.

In addition to this list of conditioners are: Yoshimar Yotún, Renato Tapia, Christofer Gonzales and Wilder Cartagena.

Hinchada y ‘El Cervecero’

The iconic song of Cueva y Lapadula was also heard in Montevideo, where dozens of fans sang 'El Cervecero' outside the national team's concentration hotel Peruvian.

Hincha postponed her wedding for the bicolor

A fan of the Peruvian national team revealed that he postponed his wedding and had to sell the ring that he was going to give to his girlfriend in order to travel to Montevideo, in Uruguay, to encourage the white and red in the penultimate match they will play for the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. “I told him that it is better to postpone it, that I had gotten a job at the mine and today he found out that I am in Uruguay.”
